L22 on the way

Hello All,

Hope you are all well.

Was looking at getting an FVX15 but finally decided on an L22 which I can easily move myself around to find the best placement in the room.

The L22 will be replacing an old AV123 X-Sub with the original amp, not the later lower output one. The room is 2,349 cubic feet and is open to one hallway and into the dining room through an 8ft wide by 7.83ft high opening.

Seating distance to the sub will be 11ft. if in either front corner, or 10ft if in the center of the screen wall. Could also try nearfield to the left of the couch, or right behind the couch. Small enough to move around for best bass, something I would not be able to do with the FVX15. I think I will get decent room gain in this space, and am hoping the L22 will have enough power for the mid level volumes that my Wife and I listen to movies at.

System is used for about 70% movies and 30% music. Mains are 3 Axiom M2i on stands across the front. The X-Sub served surprisingly well over the years, best $199 I ever spent. Only has a 150W amp with an 8" driver in a slot ported enclosure.

I am hoping, and worrying about my decision, that the L22 will suit our needs.

UPS says it will be here Monday by the end of the day (11-30-2015).

Nobody has really said much about the L22 yet on the forums, except for the one guy who put 2 of them in columns in a huge room. Anyone else have an L22 and want to share their experience?

It's a testament to the Rythmik servo low frequency prowess.

I also think they are partly responsible for why I had to repair the tile in my shower when the grout cracked and they fell off the wall.
Wow, that's crazy! If it's Ok to ask, what size room do you have? Mine is 13' by 11' by 7' (sealed, in the basement), and been deliberating between eventually either an F12SE (probably eventually 2) or an F15SE. Am running all Def Techs in a currently 5.0 setup, and been putting off on buying a sub- I've never owned one before and setup seems a bit intimidating Running roughly 50/50 music/movies, and do own a number of pipe organ SACDs/CDs lol. Judging from your post, sounds like an F12 might just be up my alley, and reasonably priced (especially compared to an SB-13 Ultra)
