However, since you apparently desire more than +3.5dB boost (NOT unusual at all ), you should shoot for a lower initial sub trim post-Audyssey so as to not go over 0dB on the trim. To accomplish this, turn the gain up on the sub and re-run Audyssey (1st mic position only, then "Calculate") until you get the sub trim around -10dB, then re-run the full cal. You will then have 10dB of headroom to play with.
Thanks for the tips. Ill try these suggestions out and see where they take me.

The LV12R is a different class of sub. But for the money, the Dayton is decent.

Wondering if a Dayton near MLP could help with my bass response.

PS - Do NOT turn it WAY up at the beginning but rather turn it to a loud setting and listen to the ENTIRE tract and THEN turn it up and get rockets lauched at your chest! LOL

and as my buddy who introduced me to them back in college in the 80's (yeah, I am old) said.."Welcome to the NEW world of Jazz"...LOL

PS - Just listening to this now on youtube does not do ANY justice to it at all. Get the CD
+1
If anyone is interested in finding out what musical dynamic range is all about, these discs are great examples of what the CD medium is capable of. In addition to Tricycle, my favorites are Big Notes and Tunnel. The discs are getting harder and harder to find new, but are still available on the used market...people should get them while they can. I still have my discs that I purchased in the 80's and plan on passing them on to my son.

And hopefully never will be. Sometimes you HAVE to go old school to get the good stuff... LOL at old school being CDs because my first record ever, in '68 when I was five years old, was a 45 single called Incense and Peppermints by a group called Strawberry Alarm Clock. The song was actually written but Ed King of subsequent Lynyrd Skynyrd fame. Ah the innocense of youth.

From time to time, the Gene Pool could use a little chlorine ...

Why is this in the Rythmik sub thread?

You'll probably get better help if you start your own thread.

Google is your best friend. Fount it FLAC 24bit/88.2KHz @ 2350kbps for free. It took 4 hours to download but sounds totally legit, like my Gold album from 1990. It's available the SACD version in the same place.
