For a subwoofer this size and weight, we need to use paint finish. However I found even the flat paint is too slick to handle for this size. I'd like to know if the more industry look paint is acceptable.

One advatnage to us and also to customers is it is easy to touch up a nick.
So is this the fabled new 18" sub? Also, will you make a single driver option? And any word on price and when they'll be available?

The second F12 won't cost you more. You will pay only $700 + shipping for the second F12 if you place the order within 45 days.

Nope, that's the vented dual 15" FV25HP.

This is the FV18:

Here is a photo. The driver is also a proto-type as you may notice the cone is not brushed. The production 15" is brushed.

The elbows and ports work very well. The tuning frequency I confirm is now about 5% lower than FV15HP. I can shave one inch in either height or depth to raise the tuning frequency by 5%. The size is currently 21"Wx23"Dx33"H. Let me know which dimension is more important.

Brian or Enrico would have to provide answers to your questions, but it seems like they're getting close to production.

I bought it directly from Yamaha so the manufacturer's warranty is valid. Like I said, it is brand new in the box.

Just dont know if the warranty is just for the buyer or if it transfers when you sell it. The warranty is good for 3 years from original date of purchase regardless of how many owners in that time?

I could be wrong but I think normally the warranty is tied to the device, not the owner. Unless buckshot registered it but even then it should be tied to the unit.

That would seem to make sense. But if you buy from an unauthorised dealer you get no warranty. What about a private sale?

If that is the case then any potential warranty would then depend on where buckshot bought it from. Are they an authorized Yamaha dealer?

I would also expect that they had to of been an authorized dealer as these are new but I would also want buckshot to tell me who that was before agreeing to buy it and provide me the original reciept with the receiver as part of the sale.

The warranty offered by most brands of electronics equipment cover only the original owner and is not transferable and Yamaha is not the exception as you can read on the attachment. Now my question is, how Yamaha or any other brand knows that the warranty is only claimed by the original owner mostly if the second owner has a copy of the original owner invoice? Unless you get asked to show an ID during a warranty claim, I don't see any other way that a brand can deny a warranty repair.

No need to "transfer" has it was never originally registered but it may require "creative" filing should a claim ever need to be filed (e.g. You would need the original sales receipt. You would need to claim service from a different address than is on that receipt. Hopefully not required to provide a picture ID (as Enrico pointed out), etc). I am out for all those reasons.

Now, the reality is that needing a service should be very low on these things so it is also likely that the buyer would not need to file a claim for service

I have had warranty work done by Yamaha.
No ID was required. I emailed them a copy of the receipt and shipped them the receiver.
But my name was on the invoice and a cc was used for purchase.
I wouldnt want to assume someone elses identity to get repair work done.
