Thanks! Feel free to join the conversation over in that other thread. Don't want to hijack this one again. And I need a 9.2 ch - but seriously this time, that's not happening for a while or I might not be married anymore haha.

Looking into subwoofer options and I like the F25 but was wondering if there will be an 18 inch version that is sealed coming out in the near future?

Fortunately those customers were able to get their money back from the eBay seller. After that incident we "properly" dispose (aka destroy) all parts and components that go into the dumpster.

Considering "Temporary" Projector - Questions Within
Welcome to what can be the most expensive part of this hobby My first projector back in 2003 was an used Infocus LS700. I paid $3000 for it. My friend, who purchased it new paid $9000 for it. If I recall was the first projector with Faroudja processing technology. Then in 2006 got an Infocus SP4805 which was by a mile a huge improvement over the LS700. I paid $800 for the 4805 new. BTW, my brother in law still have the 4805 which is working like the first day and still with its original bulb. Then in 2008 I got a Sony VPL-VW40 that I kept for 7 years and just upgraded to the Sony HW40ES last November. Now I'm looking for a 4K projector but I'll wait until they reach $4000 which most probably is not going to happen until 2018..... Hopefully

Yeah sometime in the next 5, 10, 15 years (who knows?) I'll be doing my more serious setup downstairs and purchasing a "real" projector then. For now, I'm just kind of rocking the temporary, or entry level, short throw. I think it will look great to me seeing as I've never really seen the more professional versions.

Yeah it will be in the same bedroom! Just kicking the idea around I'm happy with the sub I have and bought it thinking I would get a second one down the line and now that is basically out of the question so looking into what my options are.

We have no plans (yet) for a 18" sealed version. Right now the F25 would be your best option to pair with the RA Gamma 18 you have. I was going to check the Gamma 18 specifications but looks like RA website is closed?

I imagine it will be considered only after the FV18HP has been released.

If you are trying to match your Gamma the PSA S1800 is likely the closest available.

I don't have a Gamma, I have an old Velodyn F-1800R II. It's a great sub, but my F12SE has proven it's time to move on from the Velodyne.

Yeah I'm debating on if I should keep the Gamma and try to get something that matches or just get 2 new subs. I have been interested in these Rhythmik subs just not sure if I want to pull the trigger on them quite yet.

With how insanely low the FV15hp digs, I cannnot even imagine how totally insane the new FV18hp is going to be. Or how's about that dual 15" Rythmik with 3 ports? Good lord, Rythmik, you guys are crazy, but the best kind of crazy!

Anyone know any specs on these?

I think they have the same 12Hz extension, but at much higher output levels.

The cheaper projectors have gotten a LOT better. You don't have to give up much. A lens shift feature (manual is fine) is an important feature. Unless you paint the walls black and completely control lighting, you'll hardly see the difference between 50,000:1 contrast and 1,000,000:1 contrast. (That said, high contrast is desirable.)

I'm holding until native 4K projectors reach reasonable $$ prices, like $4000. In my case, I need to upgrade receiver ($2000), 4K projector ($4000) and 4K Blue ray player (Oppo 115? at maybe $1500) so total upgrade around $7500. I'm hopping to upgrade for 2018 to celebrate my 52 years b-day

My FV15HP should be here on wednesday (don't fail me ups) very excited to see what it can do but i'm little nervous. For one the sub dimensions are huge, i'm not sure my wife is gonna be happy with it in the living room. Second reason i love my music and i'm just not sure if ported was the right choice. The sub in my bedroom is a svs pb-1000 which is good for movies but music not so much (imo). Of course i find out SVS is having a labor day sale so i had to do it.

Ordered a svs sb13 Ultra to compare with my FV15HP. It's Rythmik's best ported vs SVS best sealed i know its not a ideal comparison but i've never heard a sealed sub and with free shipping/returns i had to try it.

Wish me luck.

Haven't read a comparison between the SB-13 Ultra and the FV15HP. I know about Jim Wilson's comparison/review between E15HP and SB-13 ultra, though. In terms of output, the FV15HP is about +6dB more powerful than the SB-13 Ultra. The FV15HP in one port mode is very very close to the F15HP/E15HP accuracy mostly due the direct servo. Also know that being different subwoofer designs, there is a very high chance that the place you have for the SB-13 Ultra won't work the FV15HP or vice versa. So you have to do a subwoofer crawl for each subwoofer and run whatever room correction system you have in your receiver for each subwoofer as well. So it's definitely not an A/B comparison....

I found Jim Wilson's comparison let me read through it. Thank you!!!
