Got it. Well for the moment $50 seems to make sense for me since it plays SACD and Blueray 1080p which is all I'm setup for. Guess I'll add a Blueray player to the list down the road when I upgrade to Atmos.

My Current "Living Room" Home Theater!
Plasma 50" TV: Samsung PN50C8000 — DLP Projector: Optoma GT1080
Projector Screen: Elite VMAX2 Electric — Receiver:Pioneer Elite VSX-44 — Fronts: B&W 684 S1
Center: B&W CM Center S2 — Surrounds: B&W 685 S1 — Subwoofer: Rythmik FV15HP
Rear Surrounds: Polk Audio T15 — Front Heights: Polk Audio T15
Check out my most recent subwoofer frequency response (1 vs. 2 port) and full system response.

Well, to play 4K Blue Rays the cheapest component is the UHD Blue Ray player ($299). In your case you will need a 4K projector/TV which prices varies from $3000 for Faux-K (Epson 5040 or JVC RS400) to $28000 for native 4K (Sony VPL-VW675ES or VW1100ES). You will also need a new receiver capable of HDCP2.2 and HDMI 2.0

Yup. Hence the "down the road"

New receiver will also need to be 11.2 as I plan to buy another FV15HP at that point, 2 in ceiling Atmos speakers, and whatever 4K display device I go with. I may get the receiver between then and now to get the 9.2 I currently have setup. As discussed before.

I'm going to most likely buy the Oppo UDP-203 to replace my Oppo BDP-93. I don't have the 4k TV yet (LG OLED if I do it now) but I figure it can still down convert to 1080P for my Samsung Plasma. I have the Marantz AV8802A Preamp so I have the HDMI 2.0 / HDCP 2.2 part ready. Just need that TV. One thing at a time.

On my PC I just upgraded the video card to an Nvidia GTX 1080 so even my PC is HDMI 2.0 / HDCP 2.2 ready.

So what's the HDCPN2.2 for?

HDCP 2.2 is the copy protection protocol for UHD 4K Blue Ray players, 4K UHD TVs, projectors, receivers or any source or display capable of producing UHD content.

Yep, and if you want 4k via UHD, your entire chain from source to sink must all be able to speak HDCP 2.2.

True, but there's is a work around with older components called HD Fury.

Someone was asking about Blu-Ray audio discs. Here are some Blu-ray audio discs. These are not concerts, but rather the studio issue, except it is in Blu-Ray.

Parasound A21
Marantz SA-15S2

Got my Rythmik logos in the mail today. Placed both on without adhesive and I think I like the smaller logo even on the FV15HP I have. Gonna run to walmart real quick now to get the super glue gel and I'll decide which I'm going to go with by the time I get home.

Yep, the big one looks better on the FV15HP. I put the small on my F12SEs and the big one on the LVX12 and L22.

Got some more time to mess with placement of my new sub. If you look at the pics my sub was originally where the lamp is (to the right of my sierra 2). Sound was very good but i noticed it was a lot louder and clear towards the right and left wall. Since my wife wasn't home i moved the bar cabinet out of the way, placed the sub in the right corner and re-ran ypao. Ummm WOW completely different sub this thing sounds like a beast i definitely need to move out of this apartment. I got the master volume up to -13 for a few seconds and the whole living room was shaking hehehe . Since i can't leave the sub there i tried moving it to the left next the the patio (glass window) and it still sounds great.

Ignore the mess and wires everywhere i'm gonna clean it all up.

LOVE this sub thank you Rythmik!!!!

p.s. I can't recommend enough this song enough for incredible, be careful playing this at night bass.

Group: synthetic epiphany
Album: lucid dreaming
song:Halfway home

Its on tidal.

you've been warned

And yes, the last picture is uploaded/attached to the forum post, unlike previous failed attempts of google photos!

This sub brings smiles every time I hear it, it's almost invisible but fires with authority unlike any other I've experienced! ☺️

What is the slide trick? Will it work for moving any heavy/large subwoofer?

I want HDMI 2.0a or better to get HDR on any 4K player I get. Still a bit scarce but since I don't have anything that supports it no worries, I can wait.

I bet if you order another FV15HP they would give you another one to put on your first and the new one will come with one already attached. 😉

Looks good - I'm loving the new look on mine.

On another topic....I may start playing with REW again soon. I learned this weekend that the gaming questions i was asking, about why i felt little to no bass in Destiny when shooting guns, etc. is more likely not the game's mixing track, but my own PEQ/EQ settings. Another guy I was playing with that has a good sub said he EQ'd his for gaming and he gets nice tactile kick out of sub when playing. ......and another rabbit hole has opened. I know the 2x4 HD allows switching between multiple configs. So I am thinking I may keep the one I've already made for movies, and create a new one that's PEQ'd for gaming. Then I thought I saw that miniDSP sells a remote that would let me easily switch between them without having to plug into my PC - but i cant seem to find it - will do some more digging there. I want to get 100% use out of the Rythmik!

I was playing Destiny the other day and it had considerable bass, if not the deepest and strongest like Gears of War.

You might be rolling off too much bass in the 80Hz and up region.
