I read that review and others on that site. It would be nice if Rythmik could get more of models to be reviewed by Audioholics.com or the like as such reviews combine detailed measurements and subjective listening tests and give a very clear picture of how the product stacks up against the competition.

(Much better than the YouTube review of the FVX15 which wasn't scientific at all.)

Does Rythmik have any kind of trade-up program in place? I currently have no sub and want to add at least one, but I'm dreading waiting months for the 18 inch units to be released.

Depending on the model, they sell very quickly on the forums. Who knows, if you pick up an FV15HP you may find its more than you thought it would be ahah

I am interested in the 18's as well but my room is too small. Maybe once I get my own house and have a truely dedicated room.

There are a couple from a couple people that have been up for quite sometime. mostly because they are not pushing them very hard and some dont want to ship them at all. If they were priced to sell they would sell. I have been tempted to buy another from classifieds but am happy with my one for now.

I am finally going to get a pair of Rythmik subs. I have talked about doing so since 2011 and just never got around to getting the boxes built and ordering the subs. I need some help deciding what subs to select. My room volume is around 2K. I have PSB Imagine T front, Imagine C center, and Imagine mini as surrounds for a 5 channel setup. I watch movies 99% of the time. I want something that will sound great and complement my speakers well. I am interested in sealed subs only. Do I go 12", 15", 18"?

Options I see right now
2x Dual driver DS1204 with HX800XLR3 amp (four 12's total)
2x DS510 with PEQ3 amp (two 15's total)
1x DS1501 with HX800XLR3 with subs in a separate enclosure (two 15's total)
Wait for new F25HP and put each in separate enclosure (two 15's total)
Wait for the 18's and got with two of them (two 18's total)

the smaller the moving mass, generally the quicker & more responsive the sub but you get less moving driver so as a result less output. that said, there's no replacement for true displacement. my vote is a pair of 15's to start, and add on from there.

Thanks, all I have space for is two enclosures up front. The rear of the room is where the front door/ kitchen entrance/ hallway entrance is so I am building a new AV stand so I can fit the two enclosures up front.

From what I've read there is the FV18HP (Single venter 18") and the FV25HP (dual 15" vented). I dont think I have read anywhere about a dual 18" sealed but I could be wrong.

Four new models: FV18 (single 18" ported), FV25 (dual 15" ported), F18HP (single 18" sealed) and F28 (dual 18" sealed). The F28 is a dual 18" sealed subwoofer with same cabinet size as the FV25.

I know the LVX12 will have more depth and extension than the LV12R. Will the extra 100 watt amp give a discernable difference in headroom and dynamics?

That's the F18 (single 18" sealed). The F28 cabinet size is the same as FV25 which is 21"(W) x 41"(H) x 22"(D)

From left to right: FV25, FV18, F25 (yours) and FV15HP.

double amp power nets 3dB more max output in general and the LVX12 has 1.5dB more output at 20Hz vs. the LV12R. Not sure about differences in midbass or even 30-60Hz though.

Would be nice if Rythmik posted full output numbers like several other manufacturers...

^You could try emailing Brian to see if he will share LVX12 output numbers. He did tell me LV12R is:

101dB at 20Hz
107dB at 30Hz
111dB at 80Hz

(without room gain)

Wow! What volume knob position you set at your sub, trim level in Avr & volume you listen to create that scary effect?

I don't have the levels excessively high, just that they're not used to hearing and feeling bass like this.
