Hey guys, currently looking at a Polk PSW450 for $150 and an Infinity PS210 for $115. Here are my details:

1. Your budget. - preferably as low as possible... I'm in college and I got bills to pay but I would probably start to squirm at prices around $250-300

2. Size requirements/limits. - no limits I guess

3. Room dimensions. - around 10'x22'x8' ~about 1760 cubic feet

4. Primary uses. - Music 90%/Movies 10%

5. Listening habits. - I'll be utilizing it for parties, but I listen to a very wide variety of music in my spare time. I guess the biggest priority would be quick action so that modern music doesn't sound muddy

6. Appearance requirements. - Like I said, I'm a college kid, so not a big priority here

7. Timeframe. - A month preferably

Well if you don't mind squirming a bit, the Hsu STF-1 is having a back to school sale right now for 250. It's just a bit underrated for your room, but it will outperform both of the subs you listed as far as sound quality.

I put this in another post but I found a used Mirage BPS-400 and on paper it made my jaw drop. Should I just rethink my budget and drop $350 on it?

I've heard the BPS-400 on a few occasions in a well treated room. It's a very good sub. It's musical and capable of good output and extension. If it's in good condition then the $350 is a good price IMHO. I'm not really sure that there are any new options that would best it for the price. The only advantage to spending your $350 on something like a Hsu STF-2 would be a warranty and parts availability, if needed. I'm not sure where Mirage stands with the BPS-400 any longer with regard to support. However, it's used, so those issues often come with the territory and price.
