Guys..pls give your comment on these because the price difference is not really that huge. The DSP-3400 has a 14" woofer but the SVS only 12".. not sure about their amp performance though...

This seems like deja vu .... did you do a search on it as I think someone just asked this same question?

Here it is ...

http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showt...light=paradigm

The last half touches on the 3400. The reality is, without objective data it's tough to call. Slightly bigger driver in the Paradigm, much larger box with the SVS, but more ports on the Paradigm. Amp specs were about the same IIRC, though the new PB12NSD has a 400 watt amp.

Low end may still go to the SVS due to the box size advantage I would guess.

Personally, if space wasn't a concern, I'd probably go with the SVS with their new DSP amp.

Is there an improvement on the new DSP amp even on their entry sub like PB12-NSD?

Well, their old amp wasn't a DSP design, the new one is, and has more power. So yes, there is an improvement.

I assume you can get each sub for around the same price? For some reason I thought the DSP-3400 was a couple hundred more?

What could be the improvement on the new DSP amp? Aside from more power, would it be better for music and how about the low end?
