This may very well be my next sub. I never looked at HSU because their ported options stopped at the VTF 3.3. I was more interested in something in the 900-1200 dollar range with a 15" or 18" sub, ported, etc.
A ported 15" with Hsu's standard of sound quality and reliability, this is gonna be a killer sub. I have a feeling a lot of guys' christmas bonuses are going to end up in Anaheim, CA this year. I can not wait to get details and pics!

....and at this price point, it makes it much easier to justify the purchase of (at least) two!

The amp is a little weak with these posted output numbers??
"and for you output junkies: 123-125dB max clean CEA2010 peak output capability from 40-100hz, 121dB@31.5Hz, 118dB@25Hz, 114dB@20Hz (these are with both ports open @ 1 meter".

Also what do you think of the new HSU versus the Rythmik FV15. The price really isn't that different. The HSU is a good bit bigger while probably having an inferior amp (and Rythmik even offers an upgraded amp).
PS - don't ignore the shipping cost, it's hardly cheap.
Pbmpharmacist, the amp rating means nothing, the measurements mean everything, and the reported meaurements on this thing are crazy, especially at this price. It doesn't matter if it's a one watt amplifier as long as it sounds good. You should hear what Klipschorns can do with 5 watts.
The output numbers for a single 15" driver are quite impressive when you look at other subs that have come out in the past few months. I would say that Hsu has another winner!
Subwoofer designs involve tradeoffs - one cannot optimally design a subwoofer to play low deep notes, and at the same time play loud. Usually the designer chooses a tradeoff for you.

All this really means is that, to tune the subwoofer to a lower frequency, one has to give up some efficiency at higher frequencies, and vice versa.
Buy 2 of them. Tune one for the low end and the other for the high end = best of both. Then think what Quads would do?
