It's interesting that the Doors don't have a bassist, but they have some of the best bass I've heard. Their first album and on a later album, the track, "waiting on the sun".

They did have bass played on most of their recordings, by studio players. If you've got a really good ear you can hear two bass tracks on 'Light My Fire', one played by Ray on keyboard, the other probably by Larry Knechtel on bass.

From the "chill" electronic genre: Guido - Vessel Dogs

Absolutely love this track. Plenty of mid and low bass.

Datsik already has been mentioned a couple of time in this thread. Here's two that are on my morning commute playlist. The low bass hits hard but the mid bass slam is also incredible.

Datsik & Flux Pavillon: Game Over

Datsik (remix by Excision): Retreat

Datsik and Excision really are the kings of brutal robostep.

More excerpts from my morning commute playlist.

Collaborations between Netherland's drum'n'bass band Noisia and UK's hip hop band Foreign Beggars always yield interesting results.

Soul Purge (on Noisia's Split the Atom album) has been a sub benchmark of mine for some time and one of the reason why I upgraded to my current setup.

No Holds Barred (Excision Remix) by Foreign Beggars is also quite surprising. Awesome bass textures by Excision I guess.

AC/DC Thunderstruck in the Delivery Man (2013 Vince Vaughn) movie BluRay . If you particulary like this song and have a healthy subwoofer you have to listen to how it sounds. Too bad there isnt an official release with this mix of the song, the LFE is unlike all other versions from concerts and studio.

This is the first song I've heard on my PB-2000 to experience port noise, massive port noise. This is at a low listening volume as well.

Ok I discovered this thread only two days ago. Now what I really need to do is just browse it on my HTPC and play every tune on my HT setup.

Thanks guys for all the suggestions. I just played a few and they all sound fan-tas-tic on my setup.

Lol, so I gave that tune a spin, but my subs were turned off at first, and I was thinking "What is this guy talking about, this song doesn't have any bass!" as I heard virtually no bass from my speakers, which are flat down to the low 50s. But that didn't make any sense given basstronic's past stuff, so I turned on my spectrogram, and WHOA!:

Jesus! Massive bass, extremely hot and almost all of it was below 30 Hz, with most of it between 10 and 20 Hz. That is the bass line through the entire tune. No wonder I didn't hear anything from the speakers, all the bass is way below their tuning point! I turned on the subs and let those woofers fly! Great tune!

I figured it had to be pretty low to be getting so much wind with so little sound.

The tune seems quieter than others posted in this thread because all the deep bass eats up so much of the dynamic range in that recording. There is not much amplitude left for mids or treble or anything else. Also so much of that bass would lay underneath most system's tuning point, it simply wouldn't be played back. A danger in that because it seems quiet, some people might turn their system to match the loudness of other tunes, and so much deep bass which is mixed so hot pushed so hard is liable to send woofers to driver heaven. You would need a pretty extreme bass sound system to fully play back that tune. Basically something flat to the single digits. Only a few people, even among us in this subwoofer forum, would have that kind of system.

Definitely 10 - 20 Hz action. I have a room resonance around 13Hz and this track hits it precisely at MV -30.

If you can get a copy of it, Circuit Breaker's debut album Danger High Voltage will beat the bricks out of your subs. Seriously, I have never heard an album push a sub so hard in my life. Side note, it's not dubstep.

Celph Titled's track So Cold is another bruiser too.

Can't believe this hasn't been posted but just in case.  I used to LOVE listening to this song and just thought about it since adding my second sub in the computer room.

there's a lot of low in this song and like u said it prolly won't even be hearable on most systems due to the very low sounds. it will however destroy any budget sub as one tends to put it louder. specially the lower lows coming in after the pretty low bass in the beginning is not good for most subs/speakers and flex them to the max as one can hear the port-noises and woofers clip. it's however a good song to see how low ur bass digs. my subs having trouble to play this as loud as this tyga song  but it works :D would strongly advise not to put this on a too loud volume, specially with budget subs and ones that won't reach the 20hz and below, it surely kill or damage them.

I was careful with this one as my sub is new and not sure what it is capable of.  At -15 some very strong rumblings throughout my room/couch house.  Checked the sub and the woofers were barely moving a 1/4", so not even breaking a sweat.  Definitely a cool track for testing low frequencies.
