Whoa. Listened to a couple of those, kinda got that eerie feeling. I've never experienced that before. Only wicked bass I've ever heard before was in a car that rattled your brain (which isn't for me). This is a completely different feeling. I only have an sb2000 and a 12w7 sealed (for now) DIY sub. Couldn't imagine hearing those on a system with a bunch of TC ultra 18's, etc like I see people have on here.

That one bear recommended is ridiculous. Does anyone know how low the frequencies go on that song?

Ah, someone posted  spectrograph a while back.  I will try to find it and edit it in.  I think it is all mostly 10-30 Hz.

"Lol, so I gave that tune a spin, but my subs were turned off at first, and I was thinking "What is this guy talking about, this song doesn't have any bass!" as I heard virtually no bass from my speakers, which are flat down to the low 50s. But that didn't make any sense given basstronic's past stuff, so I turned on my spectrogram, and WHOA!:

Jesus! Massive bass, extremely hot and almost all of it was below 30 Hz, with most of it between 10 and 20 Hz. That is the bass line through the entire tune. No wonder I didn't hear anything from the speakers, all the bass is way below their tuning point! I turned on the subs and let those woofers fly! Great tune!"

Very interesting. No wonder I've never seen excursion like that with my subs before. Thanks.

Don't kill me... I was watching vids on XBOX Music and this one popped up. Crank the bass, it was pretty good if you can just block out the rest.

For a purely natural acoustic recording, I like Polovtsian Dances from "Prince Igor" by Borodin from the Mercury Living Presence CD - Antal Dorati conducting the London Symphony Orchestra. The concert bass drum on this track is fantastic.

I second this. The first time I heard this album in my car, it shocked me as I had never heard anything rumble the system like that.

The bass in those pounding sounds start at 50 Hz and sweep down to 40 Hz. Pretty cool sound too, I will give the rest of that album a chance. Reminds me a bit of Lustmord. I love that dark ambient stuff.

Me too, like the aftermath cousin of industrial techno, which incidentally I'm really happy has re-emerged. Darker ambient stuff and minimalist techno / tech-house makes for pretty good late night working music.

One of the things that really caught my attention with my new system (Rythmik LV12R, DefTech SM45s) was DJ Khaled's Suffering From Success. Seems like the album was made to work a subwoofer.

Paul Thomas and Sonny Wharton's remix of Trisco's "Musak" also recently caught my attention and got added to the "subwoofer demo" playlist.
