Hello all,
I am new to the forums and have done a bit of lurking, but have not found what I am looking for. My problem is this: I am living in a dorm and have limited space. I had my sub and RTi4s hooked up to my receiver back home and everything sounded fine. Now, I want to move everything to my desk/work area. I don't have room for a receiver on my desk as I barely have room for my speakers and sub.

What I was wondering is if I could use the line out on the PSW111 to send signal to the speakers, thus bypassing the need for a receiver. I will be using my mp3 player and my computer and this will be strictly for music, no movies or anything like that. I figured the volume control on the mp3 player or computer would act as a master volume for the sub and speakers. Is this possible?

Thanks and any help is greatly appreciated!

Jordan

You could try it out but I am willing to bet it will not work

You need some sort of receiver to power the speakers. My roommate in college had a small Pyle mini amp (2x 75watt) on his desk which had plenty of power for our 20 x 20 room with music. Probably was no more than 6" wide i believe

I was looking at that, but I really didn't want to spend any money if I didn't have to. College=broke kid Ah well, I will try it without any amp and just cross my fingers and hope that it works. Thanks.

let us know if it works!

The cheapest one they have is a 2 x 15watt amp and its $30 but in college thats a 30rack and 12pack so I understand the want to hold back

Collect enough cans on a saturday and sunday morning you will have close to that
