Subwoofer tax evasion.

The Government wanted their piece of the pie. Austin ain't gonna give up the goods so he put his stash in a deep, dark hole in some unknown place and took off to the Middle East.

Crazy times we're livin' in, man. A "fair share" sounds fine until it's your subs being taken away. Some say "oh, he's got enough to spare" but when you're in that position why would you allow yourself to give them up?

I didn't know what you meant till after last night at Lukeamdman's place. The table upstairs did jump on Jupiter ascending clip. This is by far the most output capable system I ever listened to. We were listening at +10MV with+30db bass hot (yeap, you read that right, +30 hot) netting over 140db of audio nirvana. The bass at this level pressurized my eardrums like I was pushed deep down into the water. His DIY speakers (dual 18" midrange and a huge horn) were so clean and loud that can produce reference or more bass down to 20ish top with (or I should say bottom with) two 18" Gjalahorn subs and two 21" Othorn subs driven by a rack full of amplifiers on several dedicated 20/30amp circuit. All of these in his 2000ish cubic feet room = BEYOND INSANE. Reference is not loud at all with his system.
Thanks @lukeamdman for amazing evening and for hosting a demo session, an experience I have never had.

Luke, now I have to find someone else system that can match the clarity/ huge soundstage/ sweet vocal and output level as yours. Truly amazing what you achieve there; especially for your total system cost. Beyond impressed

update

I have to remove myself from this list, as I am now sub-less.

Moving has forced me to downsize, and I gave my 'tubes away. I still have the drivers, but size will be a factor in the new house., and I haven't decided what to build next.

PM user Leland - @wlelandj

I don't see him much on the boards, and I don't remember even which southern state he was from, but I do remember he hailed from the south and I was thinking it was Louisiana? He attended the 2012 blind subwoofer meet in KC and at the time, had a keen interest in subwoofers.
