Monoprice and mediabridge are both good.

I've had an issue with some monoprice sub cables where they loosen up over time, so i picked up one of these locking type cables. Its a bit more expensive, but I really like the locking feature.

Besides that one cable, I use monoprice, tartan or mediabridge.

I was feeling adventuresome, so I went with an Auvo. It has a ground wire. I don't plan to ground it, but it might be nice to have around in case one of my subs develops a hum. It would be a tool for trouble shooting.

Yeah. I ordered a MediaBridge subwoofer cable last time to replace an old Monster cable that was too short. The connector is ridiculously stiff and the cable itself is too which makes it hard to make bends. When I recently needed to add a second cable I took the opportunity to replace the media bridge. Ordered two Amazon Basics cables based on my great experience with their HDMI cables. The Amazon Basics are much more flexible and have a nice, positive fit.

I avoid Monoprice. I know they're a sponsor but I've found their cables to be subpar. They typically just throw a ton of rubber insulation around a standard sized cable and call it a 'premium' cable.

If you want to avoid Amazon I'd check out bluejeancables. A little more expensive but very high quality.

All told I have probably a dozen Mediabridge RCA cables, which includes various lengths and several Y adapters. Never had one of them that felt overly snug.

I wouldn't call them snug: more like 'semi-permanent'. Lol! I was sure I was going to damage the plugs on the back of my AVR and subwoofer trying to take them off!

Still better than mono-price though. Couldn't even get the rca plug on it was so tight. Took some pliers to try and gently expand them and the cheap pewter the plugs were made out of just flaked apart. Decided to cut the end off to see about fitting another rca plug and inside I found skimpiest coax I've ever seen surround by a massive outer rubber casing. Seriously, the cable was 90% outer casing.

The Mediabridge cables can be a bit of a tight fit, but I've had good luck with them. Monoprice I would avoid completely. I've had a few and on one, the end connectors came apart and another one developed a short in it. Belkin makes good sub cables and I've bought a couple of this model and have been very happy. Plus it is inexpensive. https://www.amazon.com/Belkin-PureAV...ubwoofer+cable
They make shorter cables, but I think they are actually priced more than this 25ft cable right now. Even if you don't need 25ft. you can always roll up/tie off the extra. If you want a shorter length cable, the AmazonBasics 15ft. cable is currently only $4.45 as an add on item @amazon .com. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01D5H8GYG...ding=UTF8&th=1

Assuming a price of around 200 bones for the F12, you aren't going to get anything substantially better. This is budget sub territory, which means these subs will have similar flaws and shortcomings.

The Jamo J-112 has been available the past few months for under $200 and would be a step above the F12. However, it's now only available in white finish and priced at $219.99. In this price range it's about as good as it gets. I had a couple of them in dark apple finish, but recently sold them. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Jamo-a-Klips...YAAOSw4A5YnPIx

It is probably premature for me to comment, but I received the Emotiva BasX S8 two days ago. I set it up to accompany new desktop speakers (Airmotiv B1's). I found the sub integrated best using a 60hz crossover. Other than setting the crossover and level, I have not had time for critical tweaking and listening. I still in the process of breaking in the speakers/sub.

My FIRST impression is that the BasX S8 does a fine job at its task filling in the range from 30hz to 60hz. That additional support is enough to add the desired tight rumble in lower range of an electric bass. It also allowed for reasonably seamless transitions from the upper to lower ranges of the walking basslines of an upright bass. Tubas and orchestral bass drums also seem reasonably realistic. In my 14,000 cubic foot space, the BasX S8 has plenty of output to play at moderate levels (and get snide comments from the Mrs.). To be fair, my use is primarily desk top. Even so, I think in small to medium sized rooms, the little BasX sub will provide enough support to the low end for an enjoyable music experience.

It probably will not be the right choice for HT enthusiasts looking to maximize explosions, aircraft, deep bass sweeps etc.

I emailed Emotiva directly through the sales link on the help page of the website. You can also call Emotiva to inquire.

I emailed with a couple questions and got a response to the first very quickly. A couple days later, I got a follow-up letting me know a b-stock became available. Given Emotiva's new pricing policy, the firm is remaining rigid with regard to is listed prices. B-stocks appear to be going at about a 10% discount. B-stocks can only be returned for warranty issues.

So far, few BasX S8 b-stocks have been available. I imagine it is because the S8 is so impressive for its price. Listening to Godsmack's self-titled album on CD, the S8 was very impactful. Listening nearfield in a 14,000 cubic foot space the cross over was set at 60hz and the subwoofer trim was a couple DB hot. I found the bass lines and various bass notes to be tight and powerfull with an intensity that matched the music.

With free shipping to you, you may want to order just one at first to see it it meets your needs. Otherwise you would have to pay to return two units.

While a second S8 should allow you to have nice, smoothed bass in a modest music system, for a mostly HT system you may want to consider some of the larger sub options that have more extension and output. The RSL Speedwoofer 10S and SVS NSD 12 have been selling around $400, the price of 2 BasX8's.

I am trying to be fully transparent because I have not tried the S8 with Movies, or even for music with my living room system. For 200 bucks, though, it performs above my expectations.
