Good evening all,
I am brand new to this forum and more than happy I was able to stumble across it. There is much great information here plus it looks like a fun and friendly group of members. Here is my problem.
I am looking to purchase a sub-woofer that will mate with my Magnapan 1.6 heavily modified (Peter Gunn) speakers. I listen 100% to jazz small groups and big bands, classical music of all kinds with my favorite being large scale orchestral works, smaller works, piano, cello and violin music and finally organ works. I want a sub that will reproduce the low 32hz organ pedal tones as well as the large kettle drums.
The remainder of my music system consist of a Threshold power amp, Classe pre-amp, VPI turntable with SME arm and Grado Reference and Shure V15 cartridges. I also use a Parasound belt drive CD transport and tube DAC plus a large collection of power and interconnect cables. I listen mostly to LP records and CD's. I almost forgot I love some folk music as well.
My music room is 13 feet wide by 23 feet long with 9 foot ceilings. I will appreciate all comments and suggestions. Again, the sub must integrate seamlessly with my Magnapan planar speakers. Thank you all in advance for your suggestions.
