After looking at the picts several times that tecnosponge took, I am becoming equally interested in some BBQ ratings, arbitrary or not, I will not mind...

BBQ Brisket = A
Ribs = C

Thanks for the quick response.......in true AVS fashion I will inquire if two racks of ribs would score better against a single pile of brisket...were you blindfolded during the consumption of said BBQ....I think you might be showing a brisket bias...was the brisket sauced(EQed) or dry, did this change the outcome...

This is what happens when I skip lunch.....sorry for OT.

Look, in my personal opinion I'd take 1 plate of brisket over two full racks of ribs any day of the week. The ribs may allow for greater belly extension, but they just produce a sloppy mess. I'll take the near perfect taste matching of a quality brisket with my beer of choice - everytime.

I respect your opinion but most liked the ribs better. Anyways let's move past the crap as all 4 top subs were great and you pay for that tweaking mark does shock clearly shows he is worth it.

I believe there are a couple people that commented on that setup in the initial subjective comments of this thread...

http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showt...9#post21122589
and
http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showt...4#post21112334

there may be more -- that's all I recall...
The cap pair was being powered upstairs by a single Behringer inuke dsp 3000
You ever had that feeling where your eardrums feel like they are being distorted but you can tell the sound is still clean if you had the capactity to listen at those levels??? That was me during the loudest demo with this setup upstairs. I personally prefer more bass and less mains, but the single Inuke amp powering both caps couldn't keep up to the levels of performance ratio those single eights were demanding - I was watching Jeff trying to keep the inuke out of clipping. It would have been fun to have the 7K lab gruppen amp pushing the caps, but Jeff thought better of it for the sake of those listening in the smaller room.

Great pics of what looks to have been a fun and interesting day!

The pic of two guys hoisting the BIC sub killed me.

The worst thing is that it looked like they were lifting with their back and not their legs; you can get injured doing stuff like that!!!!!

Technosponge, thank you for the pics, and the work taking and downloading them for us to enjoy. It was fun to look back and remember the day.

I agree completely, the brisket was BOMB! How was the pulled pork? I was too full to try it.

the brisket and pork were phenomenal. The ribs I didn't care for, needed more of a tangy sauce imo.

I know, these T-5 Full Spectrum lights are really killing my electric bill. I just need to build an outdoor greenhouse.

Then definitely count me in for the next GTG! I'll rent a flower laden VW bus and load up my dual Submersives , PB12 Ultra/2 and Empire and we'll have a sub-in :0

Yeah the ceiling light was dimming with each power using bass note that the upstairs setup hit! Kind of funny. I'm actually impressed we didn't flip any breakers.

Greg - what's up with the new sig? Another stab at ported I see.

You didn't even have your theater yet in October of 2010. I'd be curious what your Sept 2011 usage was vs Sept 2010 to see how much impact there is of just using the theater on a regular basis.

The increase is only about $36 thanks to our low electrical rates in Omaha.

Revisiting the food rankings, I apologize for not having smoked ribs, I thought that is what I was getting. Otherwise the food was good for the price

Greg! No apology needed! The ribs weren't bad! Just the brisket was better! The overall hospitality was AAA!

Yeah, don't sweat the ribs, man, the food was great. Michael and yourself did a nice job putting together a top notch GTG. We came for the subs, and got what we came for... in spades!

And I want to thank Michael for the HiRez DVD-A music/test disc... thank you! Hope to listen to it this weekend with my new "Wish You Were Here" SACD that just arrived.

And thanks again for your hospitality, Greg!
