the wiring config? You think the JTR and the DTS-10 were playing out of phase or something? The wiring was all inside the DTS-10 box right? That's not something we would have screwed up. Did your buddy change it since? I'm taking your post to mean you really liked what you heard?

I don't think the DTS10 was wired correctly internally. Michael and Chris fixed it.

I'll wait to describe my observations until I hear it properly EQd and crossed.

Sure it wasn't the amp clipping or driver bottoming? tongue.gif

I keed, I keed. cool.gif

I would like to see the problems experienced at the GTG sorted out, the DTS-10 has a good reputation.

The DTS-10 was purchased from Josh Ricci and was the one used for testing for data-bass.com. After the TC Sounds LMS-R drivers were tested in the enclosure, Josh reinstalled the original drivers. Due to their orientation, the drivers are supposed to be wired out of phase so that they then will fire in phase. You can change the wiring either internally when connecting to the Speakon on the cabinet or externally when connecting to the amp. The drivers were wired internally in phase at the time of the GTG and the speaker cables we used had Speakons which were wired normally. This resulted in the drivers firing out of phase.

It would have only take a few minutes to fix, but diagnosing the issue might have taken a while. We really didn't know much about about DTS-10 at the time and didn't know if the drivers were wired in series, in parallel, or wired separately in phase or out of phase.

The DTS-10 is a serious subwoofer, if it ever underwhelms then something is wrong. From 12hz and up it is hard to beat as a single sub.

AVR-Yamaha A830
amps-5 Adcom 555 in 850 watt monoblock mode
sub amp-Sanway FP14K
LCR-Dual stacked BFM DR-250's
Surrounds- Dual stacked BFM W10's
subs-12 SI 18's ported 6hz.

With the Growler handling the midbass and a DCX2496 to integrate them, nebrunner is going to have some serious firepower in his theater. eek.gif

Thanks! I did remember the tunes, just though that someone had the actual audio files hosted somewhere with a link. Maybe I'm delusional...

It was really funny hearing Chris recall the story of how he was saying that his friend (me) was the "expert subwoofer" guy and that he was under the impression that you (Ricci) may have sold him a piece of junk!

Do you guys remember what volume we listened to all of these subs?. I know we turned it up at the end on the Caps and Subm to 120dB levels, but what were the generic overall spl levels we we demoed the whole line up?

I'm trying to match that up with the VS 18.1 review that just was posted a data-bass.

If you guys ever do this again , I have a PA-150 15" sub.

I know it's not that impressive, but for comparison sake.

Just let me know, PM etc.
