Why not fire them directly towards the back of the couch. Being they are in a manifold it should really direct and focus the air/bass and increase the impact the bass has for near-field use. No kill, like over kill

They are not exactly the same drivers as the 01 series.

Edit: They are the same drivers.

I wasn't thinking for me - LOL

Was just thinking for someone else

I may take a ride up when they are available though just to check them out. I am just a little over an hour from PSA.

I keep looking at this beast and that little guy keeps opening his mouth saying " Mike, we need this and we need duals to assure a flat response across all 3 MLP seats". The wife keeps asking me what are the kids saying/doing. I keep hearing you saying shut your mouth and we don't need it.

Agreed on the comparisons. Back when I made my statement it was a ported sub!

One does not simply buy a single subwoofer with "only" four 18" drivers; two subs would certainly be necessary to help smooth the response across your LPs. 😂

Its funny how some PSA owners have said they would never buy JTR product cause they are too big.....even they think cap 2400 is too big and settled for V1801. And now they rave about this new S7201 which is bigger than all JTR subs. LOL Sound familiar?

If size is an issue, those same clients certainly wouldn't buy an S7201.

One can be equally excited for something they have no intent to buy...even a competitor's product. I'd love to have a pair of flagship subwoofers from JTR and PSA, even though they'd both be way too large for my space. It's times like this that I'm glad I don't have a dedicated room. 😃

...and most of the folks in this forum are not normal.

Especially when it comes to bass. It's funny how I have the room with 3700 square feet and open on one side, but I am not sure 7K for two subs is in the budget. Patio cover, tile downstairs, paint the house, 3K computer upgrade... Must prioritize!

It's rough having a millionaire's taste with a paupers income. LOL

So I'm sitting here watching Tron Legacy at about -7 MV and during the light cycle scene my dual XV15se subs were hitting 111 dB at about 15' distance. Can't help but wonder what the S7201 would do. Let alone duals.

That's good. HBO streaming volume is always a good 6-10dB lower than other services, so maybe they've finally addressed that...might watch it tonight.

In other news, we had our gender reveal party yesterday and found out we're having another boy! I have already joked about sharing my love of bass; the poor wife will be surrounded by boys now. 😂

So looking at the pics, it appears it can go vertical or lay flat. So when they ask why the couch is 4 ft from the wall, you can just tell them to have a seat. Lol

The pre orders will begin shipping in 3-4 weeks(ish) I'll be able to get a better idea of an exact day(+/- a day) this week. When we were in chat I mentioned that is we get a good number it may take LONGER for some to ship because we can only build one of these a day. So if we get say 10 pre orders, from the time we build the first one, the last one may not ship for another 2 weeks.

Hope that made sense?..

You got serial #1 Iceatola so yours will be the first to ship.

Even our smallest woof(S1500) is WAY too big for 98% of non dedicated rooms..

This was Jim's idea in response to a design I proposed which was a little over-the-top.

What's with the negativity? Someone's always playing buzz killer in these threads now a days.

There's nothing wrong with thinking the Cap 2400 is too big and then deciding to buy a smaller sub. That's one of the attractive things about the V1801, it's small size. Most wives won't allow a Cap 2400 or a V3601 in a living room, but you might be able to sneak a V1801 past them.

Besides, just because someone thinks a JTR sub is too big and opted for a smaller PSA sub doesn't mean they can't get excited about big subs, it just means they won't buy it. I think the JTR 4000 is too big and I would never buy it but I think it's pretty exciting to think about having two of them.

Where I mostly struggle with these big sub monsters is the price. I just don't have the funds for a flagship sub. But I'm more than happy to help those who do spend their money.

Subwoofers: dual PSA V3601's with a PSA XV15se nearfield
Speakers: PSA MTM-210T L/R - PSA MTM-210 Center- PSA 110sr Surrounds

There's nothing wrong with thinking the Cap 2400 is too big and then deciding to buy a smaller sub. That's one of the attractive things about the V1801, it's small size. Most wives and won't allow a Cap 2400 or a V3601 in a living room, but you might be able to sneak a V1801 past them.

I may take a ride up when they are available though just to check them out. I am just a little over an hour from PSA.
We could use you to lift them on the pallets. Ray is the guy who carries 175 pound subs(pb12plus/2) up stairs...one under each arm...

The amp is on the rear baffle. Here is a shot showing the foot option for the horizontal orientation.

WOW, that S7201 is a beast. I have 2x 18" drivers and am more than happy - although after the release of the V1801 I was heavily tempted and asked how we could get two of these babies to Germany.

Now looking at this beast, I cannot even imagine how 4 drivers out of one enclosure would pressurize my living room ... but, you'd need of course at least two of them to challange the room nodes :-)

Looking forward to the first impressions and measurements!

Looks like the S7201 is large enough you could just lay it flat and place a couple theater chairs or a small couch on it...no need to build a riser. Talk about some serious Tactile Response!
