It performs incredibly well at my room and with the rest of my gear!

It is just a perfect match for my other two subs located at the front stage. I took these extra couple of pics, so you can see how each driver is firing to the sides of the couch (so there is no obstruction at the front of each driver) and the amp is facing the back wall (you should be able to see the wires hooked to the amp).

Good thing there is enough space to access the amp and even better, that usually you just need to tweak the sub gain once and then forget it.

Cheers!

I'm real curious to hear what you think of the Triax compared to the XV30. I was pretty set on getting an XV30f or a pair of XV15s, but at the last moment decided what the heck (with help from some extra unexpected funds) and ordered a Triax.

I've not heard any PSA subs, but having bought my SVS 16-46PC+ from Tom over 10 years ago, I trust his recommendations.

Well if all holds true to what Tom has said and the Triax has 1.5x the performance of a SubM HP it'll be we'll worth the few hundred dollars more it cost to get the Triax's over the SubM HP's.

I know it has been bugging me, i didnt watch a movie for a month because of it ( darn omni mic) but one XV-30 is doing great, so i cant wAit to see what a Triax can do.

I'm still kicking this sub decision around. I have been leaning toward a SubM Plus now and adding a slave unit later for a total of
just under 4k. I have also been considering the Triax. Even though it has not been released I can't help but believe it will be nothing
short of awesome.

The drawbacks I see with the Triax (for my situation); That is one huge unit to move around, 190 lbs! And if I wish to add a second sub later,
the Triax will probably cost in excess of 3k by then for a two sub total of 6k, ouch!

I spoke with Tom today and he was very helpful and answered my questions, he didn't answer like a politician nor was he critical of the
SubM. He did tell me the Triax is a beast (in so many words). Also, at the end of our conversation, he told me I really couldn't go wrong with my
choices I am looking at.

In short, Tom seems to me to be exactly the kind of guy you want to do business with.

I pretty much went with PSA from reading this thread and reading about the great customer service. Just hearing that alone already had my mind made up, I just had to choose which sub I wanted in which I contacted Tom and he was very helpful.

Before buying my dual XS30's I talked with Tom in great lengths with regards to about 6 different subs, included on that list were both a Cap S1 and SubM HP. Tom never really had anything bad to say about any of competitors products, the only thing he even remotely warned me about was when I mentioned Epik Empires. He said stay away, and I'm glad I did!....lol

You really can't go wrong with any of the top 5 or 6 ID sub brands, but really in the end I bought from Tom because I had a great level of comfort with him and how he was to deal with. Over 9 months later I still get almost weekly emails just shooting the sh!t about how things are going or anything funny going on in the forums. It almost feels like I have a new friend that I've never met face to face. And I get the feeling Tom is like that with a lot of people. IMHO he really is just a nice guy that loves to talk subs and audio even if you don't end up buying something from him.

Im guessing the xv30 combined with his 3 other xv15's should result in some fairly decent bass. smile.gif

And that folks, meets the definition of an "understatement." Either that or it qualifies as a "safe" bet. biggrin.giftongue.gif

(or it could qualify as an understated "safe" bet)

How I see three XV15's and an added XV30 ..........

Yes, you're right. Definitely weak on the bass but it was the best I had for a video based articulation effort. I'll work on redemption.

I just wanted to state how impressed I am with the integrity and honesty of PSA (Tom & Jim). Triax driver magnets are shipping and completed drivers from MFR should arrive by the end of month, 2-3 days to assemble cabs, so Triaxs should be shipping the first week of September. They really do care and I know they are really upset about this delay, considering this is a new Company, I think they are doing the right thing and being upfront about all facets of operation, I can't say that about other ID companies that I have dealt with. CS is 90% of the sale before and after. I have sent a number of emails to them saying how I appreciate their honesty and dedication to their craft, I think I deserve a second Triax for this biggrin.gif No seriously, I know it matters to them that we are so patient and understand the trials of doing business and shipping a 100% working product. OK, I'm done.
Cheers Jeff
