I'd have tons of recommendations in different styles for music with good bass, but perhaps surprisingly, it seems that there is very little metal with good bass in it. Except maybe for the kick drums. There seems to be very few exceptions... for example, the bass guitar in Korn is quite prominent, but it's more the exception than the rule. Anybody knows of metal tracks with good bass? I like shrieking guitars as much as any one else but sometimes I feel like gut-churning bass without having to listen to yet another dubstep track.

Ok she is here!!

First the pics:
Truck is here!!

Fits like a glove!!

Taking measurements:

Ok setup was a breeze. Fit perfectly with over an inch clearance on both sides without having the console moved at all. It actually fits in that spot MUCH nicer than the xv15

Ran a quick audyssey then ran REW to see what EQ i would put into the mini dsp

First kind of a little (ready super tiny) bit sad. I am down 10db at 7hz but still have 76db at 7hz. And am flat (i am talking VERY flat without minidsp!!) to 10.5hz.

I am not going to employ any eq for now. And audyssey again in my room makes the response worse for whatever reason.

Only problem is in my haste i didnt have time to save the FR. So i will take more this weekend and re post

Now onto thr quick listening of the demo bluray carlos made me!! First httyd holy god! Definitly has the mid bass punch the xv15 didn't and can definitly tell the extra extension i am getting. Worth every cent to upgrade. Also ran server scene, pod emergence scene, skadoosh, and a few others.

Again much more clean slam and much more extension. In this short time i am very pleased. Now im off to a playoff soccer game. More heavy listening this weekend.

But wanted to report before clo got worried

Pretty cool Brian......you are now sporting a sub hitting single digits at your room........congrats!!!

Now, go ahead and slap that dude that almost make you cancel your order on this bad boy. You can do it every time you see him (morning at the mirror)............tongue.gif

Hmmm. Fear Factory has some good bass. They are a bit on the industrial side, but fun to listen to loudly neverthelss. Try their album "Obsolete". I enjoy some Gojira as well. Their latest Blu-ray concert is top-notch and my wife absolutely hates it. My daughter is always asking to listen to that "crazy music". It gives her a chance to jump on the couch!
