I was planning on pulling the trigger for the XS30 on Jan.9th. Hopefully Tom will have some ready to ship not too far past that date. Last I saw it was supposed to be mid Jan. I think I've pretty much made up my mind on that sub after hours of reading and comparing.

Yeah I have dual XS30s and I'm not going to lie, I'm almost scared to watch a movie past -15. The latest Batman movie Dark Knight Rises shakes the crap out of the whole house! They provide more bass then I could ever actually need.

Tom and I have touched on that topic actually, so you never know. wink.gif

I always save that part until the very end, after I've made sure I'm done listening to it, just in case there's an 'ooops' that happens. So far I haven't had a single issue - every sub was in working order. Knock On Wood

If you take yourself too seriously, expect me to do the exact opposite

B stock

The Outlet Center at Power Sound Audio is where you will find amazing deals on our products. The prices for these products have been drastically reduced because they cannot be sold as new. Demonstration units, customer returns, and slightly blemished new components are a few of the reasons a product has been placed into the Outlet Center.
What should I expect from a Power Sound Audio Outlet Center product? All Outlet Center products must pass a meticulous inspection and go through a lengthy certification process. In order for a product to pass it must function as if it were a new product. In other words, the performance of a new Power Sound Audio product and an Outlet Center product are exactly the same. All Outlet Center products are repackaged with new shipping boxes, foam cushioning, applicable manuals and cables. In addition to a perfectly performing product, you can enjoy the same Five Year Warranty as Power Sound Audio's new products.

They don't mess around, you should have them quick enough. The best thing about these is that they come by tractor trailer biggrin.gif There was nothing better than seeing that big truck pull up and then unloading those giant XV-30's. Better than Christmas. Make sure you have a buddy ready, it is a two man job getting these into the house.

XV30s might have to come via tractor trailer but XS30s would be arriving via Fedex. They're not quite as big as those monster XV30s.

Next production run for the XS30 should be in 2- 3 weeks. The plan was to order so many cabinets we would fill all back orders and have plenty left. But as fast as the XS30 order list is growing I'm not sure just how it will all play out at the moment I'm afraid. Maybe now that the "holiday" season is ending orders will slow down a bit.

We actually pulled back one review and one "GTG show piece" we had planned for the XS30. It just doesn't make much sense to actively pursue more exposure/sales on a product when current demand already exceeds production capabilities. Also, I know Jim Wilson is quite backed up with commitments too. Perhaps things will align in 2-3 months and we'll catch up with orders as Jim catches up on reviews..smile.gif

I wish you had not put that in the review. I'm seriously considering the XS30 and they might just come to their senses on that one too before I'm able to pull the trigger next month.
After that I don't give a poop. biggrin.gif

No plans to increase pricing in the near term. That can always change if a vendor suddenly has to start charging you significantly more of course. I've had working relationships with all of our key vendors for over 10 years now though so I rarely get caught off guard by much these days(demand for the XS30...cough...not withstanding)..smile.gif

All future XS30 shipments will be truck freight. It costs us more but damage issues are virtually zero this way. We *may* circle back and try new boxing designs for the XS30 with fedex but there are other priorities at the moment.

We are fortunate in that our customers have been very understanding through this whole process. The general feedback so far is...."The grill pins were broke....but this thing ROCKS! Go ahead and send new grills whenever....I'll be too busy watching movies to worry about it anyway..."

Well, more or less..smile.gif

We should be able to start sending new grills soon(maybe tomorrow) with all of the replacements on the way within a week or so.

I was wondering why people were calling the XV-30 a monster. I just went to the site and looked at the enclosure specs. I thought my 15H was big.

Even though I don't really care for down firing subs, it looks interesting. I wonder even more interested in how it sounds with 2 15" drivers. Hmmm.

Most people that have posted have the sealed version. I want some feedback on the XV ported version of the sub.

The XV30 is essentially a larger, more powerful XV15. The sound quality and extension will be identical or at the least *very* similar. The only real performance difference is the maximum output capabilities. The XV30 will have about 4dB more headroom. Another way of looking at that is a single XV30 in a front corner will perform nearly identical to dual XV15s with one placed in each front corner. So basically, if you want to know how a XV30 "sounds"....just read a XV15 review and factor in the additional output capabilities.

Thanks for the response but basically there would be no real reason to buy one unless space was very tight. I'd get better coverage with 2 xv-15's in a room.

Hi Prime 316,

That is possible (better "coverage") although it isn't always guaranteed. The room environment, system layout, seating positions, etc are all variables that can affect the expected benefits when going from one sub to two(or more). Also, the more measurement equipment on hand the more likely you'll see maximum potential benefits with multiple subs.

Thanks. I'm less of a measurements person. I like to buy things, place them and have them just work.....lol. I know what you mean though. This hobby does require a lot of measuring , moving, measuring some more, etc.

Not that your current subs aren't great but anything front firing coming down any time soon? I guess I am just partial to them.

Yes thank you fort the quick response. So with all that in mind how many db could the XV30 produce at 16hz while also throwing in an estimate of room gain for a medium size room.

Besides the XS30? Nothing right around the corner so to speak. Send me an email in month or so and I might have more info I could share.

Medium room with no large openings....let's say 2200-2500 cu-ft?

Corner loaded....3 - 4 meters from the seats I'd say you're fine for full reference levels down to the 14-15hz range. At 16hz, a rough estimate would be 118-121dB at the seats assuming average room gain.

These video's are a dime a dozen on the tube. Around the 1:20 minute mark, the video gets good.
