Well I wanted to compare my XS30 (when it arrives) to my current sub, which is a HSU VTF3 MK4.

Here is my first run with the TRex Effect on my HSU with the scene from Underworld Awakening, the giant werewolf entrance. Check it out

Very cool !
Please keep us posted once you get the XS30

XS30 ordered!!!!! Now comes the long wait. In the meantime, those who already have, or those who will receive their subs in the near future, please post your experiences while the rest of us wait for product to be built and shipped.

And their designs put up good numbers the way they are. Of course I could be way off about my assumption and now il probably have to do some research on my own after making this post....lol

Hopefully different orientation does not impact the performance. One of these days I hope to try a different orientation and experiment.

Eventually, I would like to emulate you and make it dual XS30s. Hopefully in a few months I can make that a reality.

Explosive sound effects have great tactile feel. Most of the times, I did run the subs at reference level. The floor above my basement vibrates like crazy. Knocked off a few pictures off the family room right above my basement. Note that my basement theater is about 6000 Cu Feet and these dual subs nicely pressurizes my theater. I crossed my speakers at 80 Hz and I could never localize where the bass is coming from. The cabinet is completely inert. Not even once the subs bottomed out. I believe they really have tonnes of headroom. Not even once I sensed any distortion. I never realized what
I was missing all these years until I got these dual XS30s.

I got to tell you, these subs are my first true subs. Previously, I was using JBL Venue Sub 12. I had always known I need to upgrade to better subs. I did look at a few other subs like XV15, dual Rythmik FV15HP, Epik empire, HSU VTF-15H. At one point I was also contemplating JTR Caps and Seaton SubM, but they were out of my price range. That was when I got in touch with Tom and after exchanging a few emails, decided to take his (Tom) recommendation and ordered my dual XS30s. I am really very glad I did. I absolutely love them.

suresh6877,

I'm sure it would hard to answer this question in an unbiased way now that you have experienced dual XS30's in your room, but I have to ask.

Have you tried running just one of the subs by itself or have you only ran both of them at the same time?

The reason I'm asking is that my basement room is very similar in size to yours and I and the finanial planner in the family is taking issue with that large of a dollar amount going out at once. My initial plan was to buy one now and then add another at a later date as I could probably get that to happen. My only reservation with that is if one XS30 does a really decent job in that large of space, then I will have a much more difficult time convincing her that we really need another one. wink.gif

Nice room BTW. My 100" screen is jealous!

You can always duplicate the T-Rex scene from JP. biggrin.gif

I was quite surprised how entertaining looking into a vibrating cup of water could be. eek.gifbiggrin.gif

My current sub is a HSU VTF 3 and I can't wait to see how it compares to the XS30---although it prolly isn't a fair fight. Perhaps the VFT 15H would be a more worthy opponent----but I would still bet on the XS30 wtih the additional driver and more powerful amp.

Just got my XV15 today and wow. I can't beleive the 1 sub alone can do what it does in my large room.
I have not had a lot of time to play with it, but approx 17 feet from the main seating area my pant legs are fluttering and I can feel the low freq in my chest during the "bass I love you" tune.(I know I know, but I just had to try it)
I can't wait till I actually dial it in and get more time to play with it.
I have to say...When FedEx showed up with the box I was both scared and exited at the same time smile.gif

During calibration I did run just 1 Sub briefly. When I ran the test tone from my receiver, I noticed a drop of about 4 to 5 db. Fyi., I used a radio shack digital SPL meter. However, I did not fully test them with movies. I could run a few movies with a single XS30 this weekend and let u know.

I was going to upgrade with-in the HSU line, but changed my mind after reading all the info and background of Tom and Jim and the outstanding subs their new company is producing.
Went over my needs and set-up in quite a few Emails with Tom and he suggested the XS30 as my best option. biggrin.gif

Got my duals today, had a little time to set up and listen to a few things. I have an electrician coming to run two outlets on their own 20 amp circuit, so I'm really not going to push them until then. Already put my emotiva amp into protection mode once. I'll post more Sunday or in the coming week. Here's a few pics.

Thanks. After running audyssey and listening to a few things my emotiva amp keeps going into protection mode. I get a static sound out of my right speaker them it shuts down. Tried unplugging it, unplugging the subs and then powering on and the same thing happens. I have no idea what's going on, but a sh$@!y end to a good day. Gonna try a hair dryer in case it's static electricity.

Unplugged everything did the hair dryer thing and so far everything is ok. Just afraid to push it, it sucks but I'll wait till Sunday when the electrician is done. Just a few more days, hope I can make it

You can always run an extension cord from another outlet that's on a separate circuit breaker until the electrician gets there on Sunday.
