Looks like the s3000 is the updated xs30se. I could be wrong though.

I think you're right, I loved my old XS30's. Would be cool to see some pics of the amps.

From what I can tell its a higher power rating and tweaks the drivers /DSP. It sounds like a link between the old XS30se and the T-18. The S3000 seems to directly replace the XS30se thought.

XS30se 725w

S3000 925w

The drivers in the new S3000i are not the same as the XS30se. In order to fully optimize the 1700W of amp power, we had to make some changes to the current drivers.

We will have some amp pictures next week. The ICEpower amps we have here have been in and our of our prototype subs a few hundred times. (ok not that much, but close.)
We are expecting a small first run of production amps mid to late next week. We will try to post some pictures asap.

Oh okay, so the S3000 will basically be the direct replacement for the XS30se and the S3000i is the same with a bigger amp?

Yes. It breaks down like this:
XS15se > S1500
XV15se > V1500
XS30se > S3000
XS30se x1.5ish > S3000i
XV30Fse > ?????

WOW! Exciting stuff.

Are you guys trying to bankrupt me???

The S3000i seems like it would be a great "fill-in" sub for my T-18s.

I don't mean this as a bad thing but I had to do a double take while looking at the new subs on my iPhone, the V1500 looked like a MT-110 at first.....lol
The proportions of the cabinets and grills made it look like a blown up pic of the MT-110.

You could you know always do a music only system. With a S3000I or two, and your Khorns I bet it would be awesome. Then you could put 3 MT210's across your front stage.... just a thought.

Looks like a very nice performance improvement!! I like that they are front firing and the ports are in the front. But those those grills though . If you have a dedicated theater no problem but when your theater is in the family room unfortunately it's a no go for me. Just my opinion.

I posted this on their Facebook page as well, but I put together a basic spreadsheet that has all the PSA sub specs if anyone is interested.

I'll be pulling the trigger on one from there pretty soon so getting all the numbers in one place helps me to sort it all out.

I have spoken with Tom about this new update over the course of the last couple weeks. Folks with SE subs will be able to upgrade to the ICE amplifier. These are assembled by Speaker Power. The room compensator feature will allow you to adjust the low end bass response to compensate for excessive room gain. The V1500i adds about another 1.5db in the upper bass over the XV15se, but the extension improvement will be as good if not better then the original XV15. Should be solid down into the 12-15hz range instead of 16-20hz.

Cea 2010 2m rms for the V1500i

16-25hz 107.6db

31-50hz 115.5db

63-100hz 117.3db

Wow, I went away for a week or so and when I come back I find PSA has a whole new line up of subwoofers. I just did the SE upgrade a month ago and now there are these new ICEpower amps to consider. I can't keep up.

I don't know how Tom and Jim can do everything they are doing with PSA, they must have super hero blood running through their veins. In the last year we have seen the new SE Subwoofers, the new T18 sub, a new line of speakers including new surround speakers and now a whole new subwoofer series with more powerful amps. Oh yeah, and a great new website as well.

Allow me to say great work to Tom and Jim.

So the new subs have different drivers then the "se" subs, I wonder how the new ICE power amps will work with the older "se" driver seeing that the new amp is optimized for the new driver isn't?

They are the same driver for the most part other then being optimized for the increased enclosure volume and amplifier. Tom told me the SE driver should work fine with the new ICE amp. The original FI drivers will not work.

Ok so the v1500 shows 1.5db gain over the xv15se, how much are you expecting to gain by just using that new ice amp? There must be gain in other areas I am guessing.

Edit: sorry if I missed this info already, the thread is flying by and I can't keep up!

Not really worried about increased output...I have more then enough. I am curious to see the gain in extension. As I posted a while back the XV15se lost some extension from the original. Not a huge deal but if I have the option to get it back and keep the SE performance, seems like a no brainer....

The V1500 is +/-3db @ 16hz with in room extension down into the 11-14hz range. I am not sure how much deeper extension to expect using the XV cab. If I had to guess 14-16hz.... Tom also mentioned the ICE amps handle being pushed to their limits better and said SQ improved yet again.
