Yep you can see the differences here:

SE
http://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/015...ssion.jpg?2091

Original

http://www.audioholics.com/subwoofer...iew_fullscreen

Josh Ricci hit 94.4 db @ 12.5hz with a single XV15 in his large room. Add 10db for 3 subs, my room is only 2400^3, and I sit closer to my subs.
You can see the SE is down about 6db compared to the original @ 12hz. Add the ICE amp and now you have the extension capability of the original with the much improved compression performance of the SE. From what I see the V1500 takes back the best sub under 1050.00 crown.

Hi basshead, I'm trying to reach the same goals as you (reference at 15hz) in my HT which is 2900 cf; unfortunately my space is also 60% open to another 3300 cf in my basement.

From your feedback, it looks like I'll need Dual v1500's to accompany my vtf15mk2. In hindsight, I should have asked my wife to let me put up a 15' wall and door as my Valentine's day present instead.

If only PSA would release a "v3000i" - I'd be set!

You never know..............Tom and Jim said they are looking to fill in that ported sub void, the sealed domain is quite filled in I'd say.

The ?????i sounds interesting! I would like to see some competition for the JTR subs like the Captivator/Orbit Shifter. With the warranty and customer service of PSA, it would be a winner.

I've inquired and been told it's something they're looking at in a couple of months. I was going to pull the trigger on a pair of xv15se's back in August and glad I waited it out. The new V1500 looks like a winner! As soon as I get it, I'll put it up against my hsu vtf15mk2

Good time to buy some subs!

I'm content with my "ancient" xs30 pair. At least until I finish my theater. Then I will
Know the true potential of the in room extension they will give me in a 1500sq' room.

Then I can reassess if needed

I'm curious, why are you adding a V1500 instead of another vtf15mk2?

Being in Canada, the cost difference between them is substantial due to shipping. If/when I decide to add a third sub, that increase in cost is heavily compounded.

Rythmik is using some very high end Chinese parts...the Hypex amps and DS1510 drivers are top notch.

If I was going to by Chinese they would get my business before anybody else.

Absolutely! The current specs on the v1500 indicate it'll slightly surpass the HSU offering.
What I like about PSA:

+ Great Value (even more so if you're outside of the USA due to shipping)
+ Superb Customer Service!
+ Better Warranty
+ Potentially a better product road map for ported subs

The only cons so far when comparing the hsu top of the line vs. the v1500 is looks (subjective and in my case, a moot point since the sub will be out of view) and tuneability via the ports.

I bet a few of these other ID companies wish all of there parts was all built in the US instead of overseas and sitting in a port with nobody to unload it due to union strike.

I wonder if it's possible to order the XV15SE with the ICE amp, for those still looking to buy. As few others pointed out, I do like the look of the XV15SE better compared to the V1500. I like how the older model has rounded edge. I don't mind the look of the S1500, so probably either a dual XV15SE or dual S1500.

Will we be seeing these older model on clearance soon?

From the Facebook FAQ PSA posted.

Quote:
9) I have a current XSse,XVse,XS30se will I be able to purchase an identical second unit?
Yes, at least for the immediate future. We plan on offering the BASH powered XS15se, XV15se, and XS30se as demand dictates. We will re-evaluate this monthly. We may be able to offer these models indefinitely but with a delay between order and shipment. If you are on the fence about adding a second SE model now would be a good time to make the purchase. There are no current plans to increase the current pricing of the XS15se, XV15se, and XS30se.
10) Can I order the SE style cabinets with the new ICE POWER amplifier?
We will try to accommodate these requests on a case by case basis. The price will be the same as the new models.

Just wondering who here would choose the S3000 over the S3000i, especially duals? The price increase is so small, relative to the overall price, only $200 for one and $300 for dual. Seems like there should be a bit more of a difference in price between the two.

^^ go big or go home especially for only $300 price difference. Avoid the 'what if' question.

1)Yes to ICE POWER with the current products. We'll need a little time to fully optimize the DSP coding for this though.

2)No to the "clearance" pricing..

I just realized there aren't any CEA-2010 numbers for the T-18. I wonder if dual S3000i's would match a single T-18?

We'll be updating the site weekly with more data, FR graphs, Compression, etc.

Dual S3000i would have a little more output, couple-few dB IIRC. But there comes a point when it is just a number and you may or may not ever hear any audible benefits..

Extremely excited to have just placed an order for a V1500 and an S3000i! Tom was, as his reputation, exceptional in answering all of my questions over the past month of email exchanges.

The shootout I promised will, indeed, happen! Hooray!

There is a price associated with high quality Made in USA products. When compared to even the very best made in china products we feel we offer a very difficult to beat value at each of our respective price points.

I know it seems counter intuitive to some degree but consumers shouldn't always wish for the cheapest pricing. See av123, epik, ed, and a few others who took that path. There is a cost to a sustainable business model and lowering product pricing below that is very short sighted.
