This will get you in the ballpark, you can fine tune while measuring with REW for the smoothest response.

After you get the subs time-aligned with each other, you then run Audyssey (or whatever auto-EQ you have) then perform the sub distance tweak to get the sub "system" in-phase with the CC/main speakers.
Do you need to time align the subs if they are equidistant from the MLP?

Not exactly the same, but I introduced a SVS EQ1 into my system a week or so ago and it definitely smoothed out the FR. No overpowering slam anymore.
Sounds are "cleaner" (for lack of a better word), but I did feel like it tamed a tad too much my XS30se.

Maybe I was just used to not so clean bass?... Nevertheless, adding another one should make things better.

Oh wow I didn't realize it started so high. I thought it only affected around 30Hz and under. I think I'm going to try Audyssey again with it set to Large. Doesn't make any sense why I would have deeper, more powerful bass when setting it ti Small.

Well I've got my V1500s setup using XT32. Haven't really had a chance to really check these out but my based on my initial listening is deep, clean bass. I tried various locations from mid-side walls to corner placement but finally wound up with front stage. Seemed the best there but I'm sure I will tinker some more.

Very impressive subs Tom!

Yes, I did. I have a mac at home but used my work computer over the weekend to set it all up. Didn't have a chance to actually save the graphs, but I believe I ran the whole calibration process three times, and ended up running my sub hot with the last one.
Didn't have that much time, but remember using REW and being very satisfied with my graph - but my ears didn't like it that much. Hence, my thought about me getting used to "clean" bass?

Who knows, man. I am, indeed, enjoying the system a lot more. And when I add a second sub (and going through those shenanigans again), I'm sure it'll improve things. I want to know what everybody talks about with duals and stuff...

When you implemented the EQ1, did your overall SPL from the sub drop?

With a flat response, most folks like to bump up the sub trim a few db to bring the whole bottom end back up, essentially creating a "house curve".

Had to take it out to check for any damage as there was a hole in bottom of the box, but thankfully everything was fine. And then a co-worker that is a DJ just had to hear it so of course I obliged.

Now I only have two problems:

1) Everyone in my office thinks I'm insane.

2) I have to go meet with HR 'cause I blew some poor girl's clothes off when I cranked it up...

I'd flip it around so the amp was facing the other way because I'd be scared about breaking off a connector/plug with my feet.

I want to say "no"... but only because I don't remember

It's funny, though. I know that the EQ1 is supposed to be really great, but I had a hard time figuring it out. The more I read about it and the more I tweak things, the better it gets.

By the way, Alan, did you have a hard time incorporating your duals? My space is much smaller (16x13x8), but I wander if size of room influences the level of difficulty of having duals.

Define "hard"?

Before the dual T-18s I had quad XS15s....now that was hard...and ultimately an utter failure in my room, hence the dual T-18s.

The T-18s were relatively easy to get working well together though, after I got the XT32 AVR everything sounds awesome.
