No grounds when people are actual happy with the $ spent! Unless making a product that is far superior to most is against the law....

Question about powering ON/OFF

I've got dual XV-15's and I leave mine powered ON 24/7. How many of you out there do the same? How many switch them off when finished using them? Tom V., if you are reading this, what do you recommend???

I've wanted to ask this question for over a year and finally remembered to post this evening...

I turn mine on and off each time I use them, for some reason the auto on feature was glitchy and I am too lazy to troubleshoot. Also I have a sort of OCD about seeing the green light turn on, not sure why lol

Just watched iron man 1 and iron man 2. My xv15 was putting out some nice bass. Wondering how they would sound when my xs30 is here as well

You should have added another XV15 imo. You will get cancellation in the low bass when the two subs are out of phase below 30 Hz.

I was wondering if anyone would be interested in trading a PSA-XV15 for 5 Outlaw monoblock amps? I want a second sub, but I don't have the $$ to do it. So, I'll trade my 3 Outlaw M2200 and 2 Outlaw M200. If anyone is interested let me know!

At the price of $750 for a xs30 it would of been silly for me to pass it up.

If worse comes to worse the xs30 is better then my xv15 so I could always get rid of the xv15 and almost break even

That is going to be a tough trade around here when PSA sells speakers that will play at levels louder then most ears will tolerate with 50 watts per channel.

I'd trade my wife and 2 kids before I let my 2nd XV-15se out the door!

I'm only kidding.

Actually, I'm not.

THAT is a thing of beauty Brian! Personally, I run my bass quite a bit hotter, but I can understand how that might be a bit overwhelming in such cramped quarters.

Mine are on 24/7...no auto-off on the T-18s. Even when I had my XS15s with auto-off, I left 'em on.

Bass demos first...so you can get it dialed in for Interstellar.

I hope you love it as much as I did....there are some folks that didn't care for it much, which sort of baffles me, but to each their own I guess.

Mine have difficulty staying on during low volumes in the auto position (this was not the case with my former single XV15 however) which I think is likely due to the miniDSP entering into the equation. Tom suggested adding a Y adapter and re-calibrating. The Y adapters are on their way. I'll let the forum know if the Y adapter solves the problem... one thing of note is that their is an audible click from both subs that is pretty noticeable when the subs turn on (green). I kind of like the audible click though... I used to get up and look for the green light.

I have a great idea... sell them Outlaw amps on eBay (I bet they sell like hotcakes!) and then use the money to buy Holiday121's XV15 that I'm sure he'll sell once he realizes an additional XS30 will blend better with another XS30!

Fleebay charges too many fees. I've got them on sale on craigslist, AVS, Chane, HTS, and Polk Audio Forum. If they sell good. If not then I'll keep them for something. I'm also selling my 5.0 Arx set up. I need to make room. The 4 towers are taking too much space, and I don't have room for them in the garage either. So, I'm thinking of going in-wall / wall mounted speakers.

Mine are on a switched outlet. I let my AVR switch them off and leave them set to ON not Auto.

Use the setting you feel most comfortable with. I have subs at home that have been in "auto" mode for 12(?) years, now...still pounding along nicely. I have seen comments regarding longevity and always turning things off but never any evidence supporting that.

Our BASH and ICE amps are full DSP-ed and green. So in "sleep" mode they are drawing 1/2 watt. Other brands can draw up to 15-20 watts. So there really isn't any concern with energy savings.
