Ha , I am doing the same, upgrading my Def Tech setup that has Supercubes I built in towers, lots of mid-bass that peeters out at about 20 Hz in my room.

Aliens, as for speaker setup, I am doing what other told you now, I run BP7001's as small and then direct all LFE to the built-ins. It works well that way.

I discussed the options with Tom V on the chat, with some other members as well. My room is 1500 cubic feet space, I like to hear a good low end , but I do not run my subs hot compared to the mains. Previously I said I use HT for movies up to 75% of time, I think it is actually more into 50/50.

So, folks that have above mentioned speakers, or heard/owned a few, which one does music the best out of three?

Change is the only constant.

All 3 are going to sound similar...I would get the XS30se simply because it will have all the headroom you will need in that size room and adding another down the road will make for a reference capable system down into the low teens. That will make for one impressive system!!

In a 1500 cu ft room, you would probably be happy with any of those. If budget is a concern, the XS15se is hard to beat.

However... the XS30se would rock your socks off. As basshead said, it would provide you with the most headroom.

I had one XS30se before and was extremely happy with it!

Remember: PSA offers free shipping both ways, so you might just want to talk to Tom and get the ball rolling.

A couple of questions...

1. How many hours do I log on the S1500 before running another Audyssey test?

2. After I ran Audyssey this week, all speakers were listed as auto and wouldn't let me make any changes. I went into manual and set everything to small. Will those manual changes override the auto, or does it make any difference? Also, earlier this week I set my speakers in manual to small so I didn't check before I ran Audyssey, but for some reason they reverted back to large. Does it make any difference whether speakers are set to large or small before you run Audyssey?

check the Audyssey thread, they have detailed instructions on how to do it. Audyssey did that to me once, just re-run it, , before it, change all to small, save it, also remember to choose LFE on.

Thanks, yes XS30se sounds most intriguing from all I read around the forums/reviews. As for budget, would like to keep things below 1500$.
I am pressed for space, subs can only go between center and towers and for XS30, given its height I will probably need to lift the screen couple of inches higher.
Also XS 30 drivers would fire left and right, if I set it sideways how far off the front wall is the minimum space I should leave?
I would prefer dual subs to get more even response. Not sure if, in time, dual XS30's would be a bit too much for the room?
I do run my speakers with Sunfire amp 200 W/ch and like the big, warm, clean sound I get. My "last" upgrade sometime in future would be Sunfire TGA7401 that would give me 400 W/ch. Does that maybe answers my question if the XS30se might be too much?

Change is the only constant.

Too much? There's no such thing

When I had the XS30se, the driver was about 6" or so from the back wall.

My dual XS15se's arrived this past Wednesday--ordered them on Tuesday, delivered on Wednesday, can't beat that with a stick!

Anyhow, haven't had much time to listen to them, but so far I'm really impressed! I've done no major tweaking so far--just put them where my RW-12d's were, ran MCACC, and manually set my speakers to small and the x-over to 100 Hz.

I have listened mostly to music so far, and the XS-15se's are way more articulate and tighter than the RW-12d's. The difference is dramatic--I was surprised at how much more articulate they are. It's rare that I experience a night-and-day difference when upgrading gear, and this is one of those rare times! When I popped in Diana Krall's Live in Paris, the pitch definition was simply amazing. John Clayton is an awesome bassist, and I'd never heard him sound better on my system! The RW-12d's sound soft and bloated in comparison--definitely a major upgrade!

I have yet to test the XS15se's with movies--can't wait for the weekend! I can already say that unless these babies die in the next 26 days, they're not going back to Tom!

New to the forum guys just looking for info. I just purchased the XV15se a few minutes ago and I got to thinking it might be overkill. My room is very odd shaped so but I calculated it to be 1568 cubic feet. Should I have gone smaller or will this be just fine. I am coming off of always just using a stereo set up. I am only doing a 3.1 set up for the time being until I can figure out how to do the surrounds. Speakers are KEF Q900's and Q600C

Yes, soon. I think we got 1-6 finished. Ran out of time for 7 and 8 iirc. We also had to go through quite a few checks for Brian at Speaker Power on different elements as well. Sometimes those end up being a rabbit hole of sorts.

Hi,

I got my V1500 yesterday and testing it. I am very happy to ordered it. I have a open large room, ( kitchen/living room/family room/dining room/bar), lots of windows, high ceiling, I mean it is big. Tile floor.

I am using my subwoofer wireless ( Dayton Audio- Sub-link XR 2.4 GHZ ). If you do not keep receiver close to sub it works perfectly ( or if the transmitter close to sub, you have to set subwoofer hz to 130 to stop very low beeping sound, with wire/cable no sound at all ). I have a chance to connect through cable but i couldn't see any difference on sound quality.

My setup is,

Denon X3000 ( i will change it when the new 4k/hdmi/dolby features be standard for all AVRs )

Front Klipcsh RF 62 II ( i got 299$ each, i am planning to put them to small game room if i feel need more power ( actually i am very happy right now )

Center Definitive Technology CS-8040HD ( i like it, it fits my furniture perfectly.)

Surround is Boss small ceiling speakers. ( nothing special but it is enough for me)

Subwoofer PSA V1500 ( i can not imagine how other people put 2 subwoofer, it is enough to shake my couch/windows/walls/floor and open my dirty ears , ( i feel every bass and hear very clearly every bass )

Samsung LCD 7150 65'

Crossovers,

Front - 60 hz
Center - 80 hz
Surround - 250 hz
Subwoofer - 120 hz ( sometimes 150 hz, but i feel good woth 120 hz. )

As i say, if anybody planing to buy a new subwoofer, you should try PSA. I am sure you will be very satisfy what you get.

I am not an audiophile, if i like what i hear, it is means it is good sound for me

How has everyone's experience been with the V1500? My experience has been extremely positive, very musical yet can pressurize with the best of subs in about 2600 cubic feet. I still haven't run REW. Still trying to figure it out.

Mine has been awesome...very happy. Ran it by itself at first in a 16x32x9 room. Filled the room up pretty nicely..significant difference between that and my old SVS. That being said I still had my SVS so I added it into the equation for now and have them both setup. Eventually I'll go dual v1500. But I am very happy so far.
