Fair enough but you do get what you pay for, keep in mind I owned both amps and the Peavey is a much better quality amp.

Also the Peavey amp is 2ohm stable, the iNuke 6000 isn't.

I only need 3.2ohm according to big Tom

Also Jeffery my room is 16x11x7.5. So yeah pretty small

Edit: so I decided to go with the Inuke 6000 without the dsp and use the dsp in the minidsp 2x4 to shape the FR of the t^2

I've only been trying to talk myself out of (or into depending on your perspective) getting an addition for like 4 months now. But this was a impulse buy if I ever saw one. And I am going to be in bass overload hahah

18" drivers be damned. I will have 12 15" drivers now hahah

That's just ridiculous

Call PE and ask for a deal I got mine for $360. What kind of load will the amp be seeing?

The next time anyone starts up a thread with "Is this Sub Overkill for my Room?" I'm sending them to you.

As you are obviously aware...and as I've said many many times...there is no such thing as overkill when it comes to subs.

BTW Brian, where do you live?? If I'm ever in the neighborhood I would love to experience your room (or should I say amusement park ride )!

It's really worth it to get it with the DSP imo, if even for use in the future. You can also store several preset eq profiles, and $360 for the DSP version is pretty cheap, eliminates the signal loss of the miniDSP too.

Bass Nirvana, you'll even be able to put in an aggressive house curve with above reference level capability. I think you have reached the finish line. How are you doing with room treatments, and what does your 5-20kHz FR look like? Not trying to give you any ideas or anything.

Room is fully treated other than bass traps.

Depending on the ringing I may be getting. That will be the newest. Right now (before my new subs. The FR is looking very good)

Will be updated after the final peice is put in place

A triax^2...basically 2 triax's welded together.....6 15" drivers in a 38" tall triax sealed enclosure......powered by a inuke 6000dsp

Tom V. says the output from just this mega sub will be more than the 3 xs30's hahah...using the ULF calculator...I will be at 96db (groundplane) at 5hz! and 106.1db at 10Hz

muahahahaha...i always wanted to go extreme DIY...but couldnt for various reasons...well this is waaaaay better

the plan is to either go duratex roller kit..or build a AT wall panel (to match the rest of the HT) to cover this hidden in a corner ...sort of like looking at a bass trap
Did you just say that you have TWELVE 15" drivers in a 1350 ft^3 space?
That's the kind of small room for which a single SB-1000 is recommended.

I believe we have a new definition of overkill here

Hahah you heard right.

yep. I've lost my mind.

Also there is a small
Possibility I sell off one of my xs30's too

But who am I kidding they are paid for. Why would I?

Well it didn't make it on today's truck but for good reasons. Tom had the guys take it apart fully, realign it with new damping material, rewire it with quality wires and reseal all the seams. Good stuff

And THAT'S exactly why I love dealing with PSA. You can't get any better customer service than that.

BTW...Does your wife know about this yet? Or is she going to find out the first time you fire it all up?

Well about that...I told her tom was sending me a prototype to play with (not entirely false) never told her I would be keeping it. Or I had to pay for it hahah

Not that she would care. That's My play money. Just don't fee like explaining why I need even more subs hahah

I'm so jealous, it's not even funny. To own a product from a manufacturer that is 1/1 quantity produced is super special and something to behold!

Not sure what all happened there and not being privy to the chat I won't venture a guess. PSA has the best customer service I've ever encountered in my life so it's odd to read when someone is unhappy but I guess no one can bat 1000%.

I do know that more things get misunderstood with written words because tone and facial expressions are lacking so it's easy to take things wrong. I'm not saying that's what happened here but it's possible. Plus I'm not sure what PSA could have done to make Fed-Ex deliver your sub to you if it was out on the truck already. So I don't know what you were asking them to do for you.

But I do know that it all had a happy ending and you have your sub for the weekend so that's should be pretty awesome. Congratulations and have fun with it.

My head is spinning a little from this lol. But you DO know that the mt110 is the same dimensions as a 210 just shorter? Lol. No way those would be able to be ceiling mounted lol

With all that sub power, the last thing I would want is a 35lb speaker hitting you in the head after literally popping of the ceiling.

Oh, yeah, and smurray, i'm with the other fellas on the whole delivery thing. there is only so much PSA can do, and the last i checked it's not tom or jim driving the big white truck. you can't fault the guys for fex ex running late, or considering it was still 5pm i would say they were probably running on time. and considering i have worked with them on multiple occasions, i can attest with absolute certainty that tom is VERY accommodating and will do whatever he possibly can to make things right for a customer. and without knowing all the details, based on tom's response of return it if you would like, i would venture to guess that you were complaining quite a bit and there was nothing he could do about the situation so he offered you an out if you were that unhappy. again, i have dealt with them many times and even met them in person, and i'm telling you that it would be quite difficult in this day and age to find a company that bends over backward to make their customers happy more than PSA. i bet if you polled the community you would get a very consistent response of the same nature. I know it's very exciting to be getting some new equipment and when something holds it up it can be frustrating, but at the end of the day you got ur sub and have all weekend to play with it, and PSA did not intentionally try to keep that from happening. if they promised it would be shipped one day, but they took two extra days for it to leave the facility and then gave you a who cares excuse, then you would have a legitimate beef. i don't see that being the case here, so just be happy and enjoy the heck out of your new sub and welcome to the family.

Also, a quick indication if it's a 20 amp, if the outlets are done to code, is they will have the sideways prong (T-Shape) on the left receptacle. Standard 15 amp outlets will have the two vertical receptacle along with the ground on the bottom.

It definitely depends on the frequency. As I mentioned above, the ICE amp on a single S3000i peaked at just over 27 amps in my house playing the Bass I Love You song. Average draw was, like you said, just a few amps. Nominal voltage to the 15 and 20 amp circuits in my home was measured at 121V. I measured my current draw at the breaker panel with Fluke and Klein multimeters.

I had my neighbor with the twin S3000i play the Doorway song and it tripped his breaker and nominal voltage dipped below 100V! Both subs were on the same 15 amp circuit.

Walkens

Doorway

Found them both on this page of the AVS forum.

Congrats, Brian! Those look like a lot of fun.

Enjoy!

Wow!?God on my old system I had a rotel rmb 1090(380 a channel) and 1095 (200)a channel with a def tech sc reference sub (1800)wts along with 2 bp 2000tls (500watt each)and dt clr 3000 (150).everything ran on 2 15 amp breakers.never a problem.and I like my stuff LOUDWell over 110dbs.knock on wood.worked on setting up my new S3600i today.I've got something not right. ....this thing should be insane.....not getting much output from it really. ..I'll work on it Friday. Congrats Brian. Thought you were happy with a single 12" not long ago (SVS sb12 that was) and you were in a bigger room. This is what AVS brings- craziness

I know you are excited about getting your new sub, and are anxious to try it out. I suspect there was simply a disconnect between you and Tom. I know you wanted to get your new sub today, but I'm not sure what he could have done differently for you on your end.

I've dealt with FedEx Ground and they are a different animal from regular FedEx but even trying to track down an item on a truck with those guys is hard as Hell. I was chasing my new Sim2 projector all over town last week!!

Tom has spent a lot of time with me on chat answering about a zillion questions, and I have not even pulled the trigger yet. A guy who cares about his products and business as much as he does cannot help but care about his customers.

My advice, take it easy, unpack and connect the new sub, then come back and share your thoughts with all of us!!

Take care...

Actually I'm not sure I would. I would check with Tom and see if you would get enough out of that upgrade to make it worth it. If you were only trading in one for a S3600 that would be a no brainer.
I did check with Tom, and it's tempting. He said that a single S3600i is roughly equivalent to 3 XS15se's, and also extends deeper. The thing is, I didn't keep my boxes for my XS15se's.

And I don't listen anywhere close to reference--my XS15se's are plenty for my 1800 cu ft room. I don't get that much cabin gain though, as the longest side of the room is 22 ft. And I'm on a concrete slab too.

OTOH, a trip to PSA's facilities would be only about a 4 hour drive for me . . . . Must resist . . . .

My humble system:

Sony X900e; Sony UBP-X800; Pioneer Elite BDP-62FD universal blu-ray player; Denon 4300H AVR, Dual PSA S1801's; Monitor Audio Silver RX-6 mains, RX center, and RX surrounds; one pair NHT mini Atmos speakers; Home-built HTPC (Xeon E1230, 16gb RAM, Crucial M500 480gb SSD, GeForce 980Ti, Corsair CX600, CoolerMaster mini-ITX case)
