Oh please don't say that. Looks like I better start saving now. Because obviously I have problems saying NO to PSA.

That's funny right there. I always save my boxes. The wife hates it but it's very valid to keep them (moving or selling) escort don't think I'm keeping the packaging on the thing/Subzilla The construction site next door might find a present in their dumpster (it's ok I'm good friends with the builder. The shipments to our distributors last month took a lot out of us in terms of inventory. This is particularly true of our Australian cohort. Thanks again for ordering CONTAINERS at a time Peter...you da man!

Our cabinet vendors have come through in spades lately. Not only did they push things ahead of schedule for the above shipments they have ALSO busted their tales(60+ hour weeks) to get us ready for the typical 4th quarter rush. We have about 140(?) enclosures on hand now with another 120 arriving in the next few weeks. 100(ish) more amps already in route from Brian, and as usual Eminence has no problem sending us hundreds of drivers every month. Those guys are tip-top!

Anyway, customer often seem surprised when they ask "if I order right now, how long until it ships" and I say..."this afternoon or next business day"(99% of the time). When you have the overhead to stock adequate inventory(and your vendors can keep up!) it's really a piece of cake..

I actually have a utility trailer where I have my old audio boxes and yes…most of them seem to say PSA on them. I use the trailer a few times a year so I have to unload it when I do but that trailer gets all the boxes out of the way.

BTW, here is what I use when I want to do a quick/dirty DSP on woofs. Jim does all of the actual coding in his PCs when we're dialing in our DSP enabled amplifiers though.

I meant to post this earlier and forgot. I just wanted to say that when my V3600 and the 110sr's came via ground freight the operation went off with out a hitch. But what really impressed me was the condition of my boxes. There wasn't a single hole, scrape or even a dent on any of the packages. The boxes were pristine, like they just left PSA. The only thing I noticed was a little stain on my V3600 box but that was nothing note worthy. Fed-Ex has never damaged any of packages but they have always put holes and dents in the boxes.

Ground freight always made me leery before but suddenly I'm liking ground freight more than Fed-Ex.

Who knows. Maybe it is a bad choice. Maybe I just blew some money. I've spent more on worse. so I guess I will have to be the ultimate judge in that. :/
Oh, gotcha. I thought you were already above reference capable down to 5hz. You certainly should be after this! Definitely not a bad choice IMO and I would be chasing the same goal if I had sealed subs (which in hindsight I should have done in my small room instead of ported ). Your room will be insane!!

115+ db @ 5hz is no walk in the park. I doubt 3 XS30se are capable of that cleanly. The addition of Subzilla could very well put Brian there.

I believe MKtheater has 8 SI-18's in a IB setup to hit 115db's + @ 5hz.

True, but with his small room (my room is similar in size) and taking room gain into consideration (I get huge gain 40hz and below) I thought he might be able to hit that already, but your probably right. He should hit it now though for sure I would think.

This is my current response after Dirac. So we shall see what adding the Subzilla will bring. Also it will really allow me to add in a generous house curve

I have an S-1500. I got a 30 foot Blue Jeans LC-1 subwoofer cable because I thought the better place was in back of room. But it turns out it is up front., so only need 10 feet or less in cable. I can send back the 30 foot but after shipping, it would probably be a wash in cost to get a 10 foot cable. So I would rather just keep the 30 foot in case I ever needed the length. I notice no noise or anything with the cable and even at 9:00 O'clock Audyssey sets the subwoofer at -7.5.

So would there be a material/noticeable benefit to using a shorter cable (like 10 foot versus the 30 foot) or okay to just keep the 30 foot in case I even need it?

Nope. No difference in lengths. Use the 30'

New PSA owner

Well, my Epik Empire amp just quit working, so I went and ordered a V1800. I have a large opened floor plan, so hoping for a little more output than the Empire gave me.

I put it on the local Craigslist, but might put it on the classifieds here if I get no interest.

Yeah I agree. I have both subs in the back of my room and have 35 ft and 45 ft cables running my subs and they are doing quit well.

Congratulations on your new order, I think you're going to be happy with that V1800.

OH WOW!

My daughter is having a birthday party with some friends and is down stairs in the HT watching Enders Game. This is the first time I've been upstairs while someone is watching a big bass movie. Now I know what my wife means about it feels like we're in an earthquake and the house is falling down around us. My chair is shaking as I type this.

Heh Heh…cool.

YES!! I have yet to experience anything outside the theater. Probably a good thing. The wife says while she is in the bedroom if I have a bass heavy movie on she can hear/feel slight rumbles. I'll take that

The Empire was a beast in output >60hz so I'd say that might be a wash(even). But you'll notice a difference in the 16-50hz range. Also, I wouldn't be surprised if you felt the overall sound quality was improved as well----particularly with concert/music discs. The Empire didn't really measure very well in what I consider the sound quality "metrics"(group delay, waterfall, impulse). Heck of a sub for $799(?) in its day but you could see where the corners were cut both in terms of product content and overall engineering refinement.
