Not bad… Not bad at all. But the PSA 210C has you beat weighing in at 55 lbs. It's amazing how big these centers are.

But I discovered that I love riding bikes. I ride both Mountain Bikes and Road bikes and they don't bother my knees. That's how I get the majority of my cardio in. Unfortunately bikes and bike gear can be pricy and that can cut into my a/v habit if I'm not careful.

Bass… when you start lifting again choose a weight (for the exercises you decide to do) that you can do 15 reps for with only slight to moderate difficulty and only do one set per exercise for the first week. Then up it to the sets for the 2nd week keeping the weight the same. By the third week, depending on how you feel, you can up it to three sets. This high rep low intensity approach works well to avoid most (but not all) of the muscle soreness associated with getting back into resistance training. After four good weeks of training you'll be ready to get serious and you will have avoided some unnecessary pain.
Hop: Biking is awesome. I ride about 72 miles a week on my Hybrid bike. The road bike I want is $1500 and for a few seconds I was thinking about selling 1 of my subs for it but then that little guy jumped on my shoulder and slapped some sense into me.

The subs are getting a workout right now. Got some extension back. +/-3db down to 15hz(not including the 30hz peak..No EQ). Fairly solid output down into the 13-14hz range. Last sweep I only increased the level 3db and output still increased 3db so there is probably another 2-3db left on tap. SO with source material looks like I should be netting 113-115db @ 14hz. Can anybody say ICE ICE BABY!!

Finally got to work out my new V1800 a bit tonight with Mad Max Fury Road. LOL wife was complaining the bathroom floor upstairs was shaking. Turned it down a little but most of that movie made my seat shake. My 14 year old Pardigm PW 2200 never made the chair shake but I think its tuned to 32hz so I missed most of the good stuff in that movie the first few viewings. The V1800 rocks!

The best/only way to have up to the second latest regarding the outlet is to chat with Tom. Many outlet sales never hit Facebook or the web (speaking from experience… Tom gets 11/10 in customer service).

I actually have them both up front, the S3600I on the leftside and the XS30SE on the rightside. They are both the same distance from the MLP. I use to have dual XS30SE up front then I sold 1 of the XS30SE and bought a S3600I. I noticed a big difference as soon as I plugged the S3600I in and up until 2 months ago I thought I was getting the full potential of the subs into I noticed I had a huge null in the middle of the room from front to back. I played with the delay feature on the S3600I and BOOM, HUGE difference not only am I no longer getting that null but the total output seemed to doubled. I have been waiting for my buddy to bring his Mic over so we can play with REW but that has not happened yet. I will break down sooner or later and buy my own Mic but Summers are always busy with my 2 boys on summer school break. I plan on messing with REW once the kids go back to school and I have some free time, my current project is blacking out the room ( 95% done) with Black velvet which makes a huge improvement in PQ. I was set to add another S3600I to the mix but I decided to buy a Marantz SR7009 instead so that put adding another S3600I on hold until next year.

Yeah Jim I did consult doctors, I have several specialists on the payroll, My gastro guy diagnosed me with some chronic small intestinal problems and put me on a very strict diet for some time, I'm just starting to eat normal food again. My weight loss was a gradual event and when I reached my current weight I've stayed there. I'm not losing just hard to gain, I'm also lactose intolerant and slowly trying to do the protein shakes, sometimes good and some not so good.

You're so right about walking and trying to stay active, I still have to be careful even walking as I have COPD as well. I think the breathing is what bothers me the most, I try to do activities like I did when I was young and that's when I hit the brick wall. My age is a factor and the breathing issue causes stress which affects my appetite, I try to eat small portions several times a day rather than eating large quantities all at once. At least my weight has been stable for the last 6-8 months. It's tough getting older and doing the things I did getting older didn't help much either.

I have to watch the protein shakes as they have a lot of sugar and my doc reco'd getting my sugar naturally from fruit, prior to that my sugar came from large quantities of alcoholic beverages. It seemed like when I stopped drinking alcohol several years ago my problems started. Yeah right, that and smoking caused all of my problems. I'm just so grateful these days to be on the green side of the ground, seriously.

OK, enough of the "As the stomach churns" rambling, I just want to thank you and the others for their very helpful suggestions for a healthier life style, I'd like to be here chatting with all of my long time friends and new ones that have joined the PSA legions for a long time to come.

Cheers Jeffrey

I have a single rhythmic f12 that isn't quite doing it for me. Was going to look at another f12. However, the s3000i looks like an attractive option. I am still in the trial period of my rhythmic

^ Jeff, like you said, it's good to be on the green side of the ground. Keep up with all the good things and it will pay off in time my friend. I just like it when you stop by and post (I miss your prolific posting from the old days).

How are those V1800's treating you? I think I have the only sub from PSA you haven't owned so any feedback you have on the V1800's will be worth it's weight in gold. How do they compare to the other PSA subs you've owned?

Ahhh, you’re looking at the PSA charts .

Dual S1500 will do what a single S3000 cannot do, and that is to provide frequency smoothing over your listening area (in case you are getting peaks and nulls with a single sub). However, if you have a good spot for a single sub that provides excellent bass response at your listening position, that S3000 is one impressive sub and you’ll immediately tell a difference from your 12-inch sub. However, it is quite a bit larger than your Rythmik.

Checkout the 15V. If you can swing two of these you will achieve nirvana and want to buy me dinner! 😉

The 15s or S1500 are not slouches, the Vs simply pull more output from the 15" driver below 30Hz. You also get more tactile feel from vented, especially nearfield like you describe behind the couch.

Thanks Billy p. I'll post a picture once I get the speakers. Ascend was waiting on the RAAL tweeters to arrive to put the center together, hopefully will get soon.

Maybe but it might have to do with the lighting as well. I have hardwood floors that look just like that in the sun but literally look almost black without direct sunlight

I was reading back and may have missed it. Has Tom given a date for when we SE owners can upgrade our amp? I'm very excited about this to see the difference, even if it's not a large one.

Just want to pop in and add that the ICE amp is a SUBSTANTIAL upgrade from the Bash! I watched Superman vs Batman last night @ reference and the house was shuddering. definitely noticed the deeper extension on some of those scenes. I have logged about 3 hrs of music listening since installing the ICE amps and WOW! Just when I thought what I had could get no better...Much improved transients and the bass feels even tighter! Tom really downplayed this one . I popped into chat earlier and was like "are you serious"? Here I thought that I "might" notice a little difference, but not to this magnitude. Tom replied, "well I did not want you to biased" lol. Seriously, now I know why all the 15v/V15/18/3600 owners are so happy with their subs!

Since I found the pic I'll post it. Theese are my hardwood floors when they got installed. One pic is in regular lighting and the other is taken with a direct beam of sunlight coming down. It's just hard to tell in pics and if there is a flash it will indeed seem much lighter

Well that just sucks! Now the XV15se that's in my living room is screaming to be upgraded. Just when I thought I was out Tom and Jim pull me back in again.

So Bass… would you say it's kind of like having all new subs?

Subwoofers: dual PSA V3601's with a PSA XV15se nearfield
Speakers: PSA MTM-210T L/R - PSA MTM-210 Center- PSA 110sr Surrounds
Denon X4200 - Oppo UDP-203 - Panamax M4300 - Direct TV - Apple TV - Xbox360

Damn close! Good enough that I want to go back and revisit all the good action flicks and music. Last night after installing the amps, I kept telling myself it was placebo other then the better extension. So first thing today I fired them up and had the same impression that there was a BIG improvement, then I knew it was real!!

Hi All...
I am a near future PSA subwoofer owner. I have read many of the posts here, and I would like to thank everyone for the great amount of information.
I am trying to figure out which subs I want to purchase, and thought I'd throw it out here to see what you all thought...
My situation:
~4000 cuft open kitchen/living room setup. 70% music, 30% movies....I love concert blue rays. I am currently running a 7.1 system with Marantz SR5004, SVS Prime Bookshelves for mains, Mackie studio reference monitor center channel, Speakercraft in ceilings for surrounds. I tried to make a pro audio 18" 1000 watt sub work in this setup, but could not get good results. The bass was always too loose. I tried distance settings, and phase settings to no avail. The sub is too large to locate anywhere other than where it is, so I could not move the sub. I did just recently take delivery of an open box Denon AVR-X4000 with the Audyssey XT32. I picked up the Denon because the SR5004 does not have the Audyssey XT32 which I will want to help me out with a dual sub setup.

Tom recommended either the 15S or the S1500. Since the specs are nearly identical for both of these, I am leaning toward the 15S as the would fit nicely between two recliners near the back wall....and the second one 15S would fit perfectly in my currently unused 19" rack mount enclosure up front.
Try to picture this if you will...
The 60" TV sits above the gas fireplace. The front speakers are directly left and right of the TV sitting in alcoves. There are two rack mounts to the right and left of the fireplace. These rack mounts are open in the back to a wire closet with runs behind all the components (TV, speakers, receiver, BD, fireplace, etc). This room is only about 3' x 12' and I am thinking that I could possibly get a nice boost out of this room if I load it with one of the 15S in the left unused rack mount. There is some space on the right rack system that should pass some bass from the loaded closet.
I didn't mean to go on a rant, I just want you to be able to visualize what I intend to try and see if you guys might have some suggestions. Also...either, the 15S or the 15V would fit in the enclosure (for that matter...the vented versions would also fit) so I could use either one. I am just starting to get a feel for how bass travels, and I'm thinking perhaps the sealed version might give a better response (tighter bass) in this situation since it will now have to load this small room?? Also...is it possible to get a vented sub and a sealed sub to work in harmony....or is it advised to get both the same.
This Sub in the rack system would only be an experiment. If I don't have good results I do have the flexibility to re-locate it.
TIA...
Marty
