Finally, I'm stepping into the big leagues!

It took a bit, but I managed to sell off two smaller subs (10" Velodyne Impact 10, 10" Martin Logan 700W) and placed the order for an XS15SE with Tom this morning. Less than 3 hours and I've already got the shipping confirmation! I wish every vendor I dealt with shipped as promptly!

The one down side: the delivery is coming Tuesday, so I'm stuck with the Impact 10 (selling to a co-worker who's making payments) until then. That does, thankfully, give me some time to do a last sub crawl to try and confirm the best position for the XS15 when it arrives.

Huge thanks to Tom for patiently answering all my n00bish questions.

Jeffery, just buy these...

http://www.seaton-sound-forum.com/po...woofer-7043903

Get the master slave combo for 4590.00. I thought about seeing if mark would sell me just the cabs but I have no where to put them. I was thinking about storing them until I can build a dedicated theater, but it would be better if somebody could utilize them now.

4500watt dsp speaker power amp
4- 18" Dayton Ultimax drivers tuned to 11hz
Would have significantly more output then 4 Submersives in the 10-25hz and roughly the same output above that point.

Honestly 4590.00 is a killer price for what you are getting. Probably 3-4 Triax's of output in those beasts.

Exactly! I wish I had the room for them...if I did they would be mine and I would still keep my XV15se for end tables. .

4-18's tuned to 11hz and 4-15's tuned to 18hz would be fun but my poor room would explode.

Really? Four 18s versus Twelve 15s. 4000 watts versus 16,000 watts? My money would be on the Triax over the large majority of the operating bandwidth..

Somehow I don't think Basshead is interested in the majority of the operating bandwidth

I hope its ok to ask this here. I currently have an XV15se and another company has put one of their closeout subs down to $499. It's the PB12 NSD. Do you think they would integrate well together. TIA

Probably okay(meaning both should work okay/good together) Which receiver are you using? Any sort of external sub EQing? (miniDSP for example).

Also remember, a second XV15se would only be $799 for you as long as you purchase it within 1 year of the first.

Unless very carefully eq'd the PB12-NSD will get exposed by the XV15se's superior output and extension. I would try to save up a little more and acquire a second XV. Do it right the first time and you will end up saving yourself time and money in the long run. Also, it will save you from constantly asking yourself what if I had went with another XV. Trust me this is someone speaking from experience.

I am using A Pio Sc25. I don't have any sort of external sub eqing. I'm not sure if I would have the patience .

Your probably right that I should go with a 2nd XV. At $499 for that other sub that's a steal

The PB12nsd should work fine at moderate to moderately loud levels. The main concern is it will run out of headroom way before the XV15se. So at louder levels the PB12nsd will more/less "give up" which can cause a couple issues.

1)if you are using the PB12nsd to smooth out the bass, the smoothing effect will be lost.

2)The bass presentation may seem to "shift" a little drawing attention to the single XV15se at this point.

At $499 the pb12nsd is a bargain....just be 100% sure on its agreed upon condition before purchasing.

I would think enclosure volume of the 18's makes up quite a bit of ground. Aside from that I was just basing that off of the fact that Mark said two of the Terraforms would equal 4 Submersives. So yea you are right probably would be more like 2.5-3 Triax's. Anyway you slice it 4590.00 is a great price.

Hey guys, thinking I need to quit being a chump and get into the minidsp game. Is there an advantage to going through PSA for this? I can't seem to tell by looking at both websites.
