Haha, yeah! Provoked thoughts...its a good day.

If you're worried about shaking the house, might I recommend a smaller sub such as the JL Audio...LOL! I kid...sort of. But seriously, the S1 and even the DIY option I posted are powerful subs and could shake things in the house...and you'll love it. The key is to get the significant other involved early if that is in the picture. But with a concrete room, it is hard to say how the bass would travel in your house.

Well for Cap money, I could do a lot of dual setups (ie 2x VTF15H mk2). Maybe I'd add another Cap in the future, but it wouldn't be anytime soon. Thanks for the info though. I'll have to revisit this thread soon when funds have been allocated.

There is no way to stop the house from shaking with subwoofers since the bass waves are large and long.

These drivers almost look identical to the Epik Conquest drivers. If I didn't have a pair of Conquest's, I would absolutely purchase a pair of these.

There are a few highend subwoofers using that 6 spoke basket however this driver is completely custom for JTR. When it comes to drivers the t/s parameter is what matters so even though some drivers may look similar they won't share a single t/s parameter.

We had the opprotunity to bring the Captivator S2 to the home theater meet in Pittsburgh last weekend:

Any interest in a Pittsburgh area meet up?

One of the demo songs was Boxenkiller. It was requested to listen to that with just the 210RT's running full range. I had a 40 low pass on them at a 48db slope. I had them at -10 and Jeff told me to open them up so we took them up to +10 and everyone was blown away!!!! They sounded better full range than with any of the single subs in the mix. They were the star of the show they there weren't event meant to be in!

The S2 alone also rocked my house. After their demo Jeff P laughed saying and he is getting 4!!!

I was almost going to tell him to take 2 back with him

I want to public ally thank Jeff for coming out and helping with the GTG - being my first he was a huge help!

Jeff - I should have had you take 2 of the S2's back!!

We were just watching how to train your dragon - I got a phone call right as the last scene was starting. We were watching at -20 with the subs 3db hot and a 6 db boost at 50hz. I went upstairs to take the call and almost crapped my pants as the mirrors and pictures on the walls started flapping and banging like a demon possessed my house. I should have videoed it. I could feel the floor and walls flexing. It was very scary!

Now we are watching HTTYD2 and it is just weak.....

Proud owner of a S1 here looking forward to add another unit. I have a query regarding using my present S1 to drive a slave sub: does the AVR (or Antimode DC) recognizes the 2 subs as independent sub, or as a mono entity?

Does JTR sell a Captivator S1 without the amp plate?

I received my new Captivator S2 last week and I am blown away. Earth crushing, powerful, tight. And I currently own dual Seaton Submersive HP+. I am using the Dspeaker Anti mode 8033S-II which has tightened up the bass appreciably. My room is 14'x25'. I am in bass heaven!

If you are on the fence about purchasing the S2 let me tell you that this thing is incredibly well made, like a bank vault. Imagine sitting right next to a car falling into your movie room and you get the idea of the sheer impact it produces.

One thing I do notice is that I get a lot more vibration into my kitchen below. Not sure if this is due to the higher output or if it is due to the fact that the Seaton's have the dual 15" opposed woofer design that cancels out vibration transfer though my floor.

I will try some of the Subdude type isolation platforms to see if that helps. Wife is not thrilled that her kitchen feels like it is under siege from giants during guy movie night.

JTR Captivator S2 (1st to receive New 2017 version) and Dual Seaton Submersive HP+ up front, Dual JL Audio F112 in the rear / 2.39:1 Stewart Filmscreen electric screen, 119.5" diagonal, Studiotek 100 material / JVC 4910 projector

It's the higher output, likely more than double down low; frequencies that will shake the entire house via sound waves that travel through the air due to excursion of the cones. A piece of foam under the sub won't change that.

If you have the bare sub on a wood or tile floor with no feet, then something should be put between the cabinet and floor, such as a set of rubber feet for $4 or an inexpensive rubber mat.

We are almost finished with the first production run of the 2017 Captivator S1 and S2. The driver has been updated to a triple stack of magnets and we were able to cut the inductance in half. We are really happy with the performance of the new driver and we will be keeping it around a long time. Farsider3000 was the first with the new 2017.

I would love to see an S2 sent to data-bass for testing. You have solidified your king of the hill status with your Cap1400 and OS LFU. Time to claim the sealed sub throne.

That is cool that I received the upgraded design. I am a Quality Manager for one of the largest corporations in the world so I know how important customer feedback is for new product design or design changes. I will continue to provide performance feedback on this upgraded version and I am extremely satisfied so far. I am certain that I will not find the limits of this sub and I will likely be replacing my two JL Audio F112 in the rear of my room with a single Captivator S1 in the near future.

man if that is the case it might be even easier to take the leap that would be great even if they didn't have it in stock and could get it to me in a reasonable time I placed an order with reaction audio on February 29th for a gamma 21 and had to cancel this week so not planning on waiting much longer LOL im looking to upgrade from SVS pb12 NSD in a 1200 cubic foot room trying to get some good ulf and future proof myself
