Sorry that I am going off topic but what do you use your EMO XPA-3 for because I think wouldn't just the receiver been enough to power your Monitor 70 since they can't handle much or does the External Amp really makes a big difference because I have the Polk RTI 12 and I only use my Onkyo NR609 to power them Bi Amped, is an external amp like the XPA-3 really worth it? Does it really make a big difference? Thanks
You can't really biamp with the NR609. Actual separate power amps would be much better. I use my Onkyo avr just as a preamp for the L/C/R channels, I use two 250/w per channel amps; L/R share, center gets it's own. Use the avr just for the surrounds and back surrounds since they don't need so much.... but someday that might change
I would highly encourage the PB12-Plus-maybe one of the outlet deals. I auditioned the PB12-nsd and it's a great sub for the money, I currently have Empires downstairs and they are a good value but the PB12-Plus is the total package in terms of quality (inside and out) and performance.
