You can't really biamp with the NR609. Actual separate power amps would be much better. I use my Onkyo avr just as a preamp for the L/C/R channels, I use two 250/w per channel amps; L/R share, center gets it's own. Use the avr just for the surrounds and back surrounds since they don't need so much.... but someday that might change

I would highly encourage the PB12-Plus-maybe one of the outlet deals. I auditioned the PB12-nsd and it's a great sub for the money, I currently have Empires downstairs and they are a good value but the PB12-Plus is the total package in terms of quality (inside and out) and performance.
