@JPowers - That's what I thought. I was amazed when I was told $250.

@JChin - I've never used any, but I'll at least take a look.

Given what everyone has said, I wouldn't be opposed to a third party driver if I can get it cheaper. I just think $250 is a bit steep.

I think your best option is to replace the driver with a matched unit from the mfg.
If you want to get a new sub then I would bump the budget for an improvement in extension and output.

The driver on my Stf 3 went bad (tore up) during battle l.a. When I contacted hsu, I was quoted $120 + shipping. Considering hsu helped design some of the outlaw subs, I would contact them if I was in your shoes. It won't hurt to call. I wish you good luck.
