Hello everybody! Long time lurker here! Just wanted to ask some quick advice.

I have the opportunity to get a Klipsch SW-112 subwoofer brand new for about 250 dollars. I have been thinking about buying/building a subwoofer for a long time now and reading these forums a lot. There are quite a few models I wanted more than the SW-112 from what I had read, but for 250 dollars, should I really even consider anything else? It seems like most of the subs I was looking at where in the 600-800 dollar range and it seems hard to justify spending 350-550 more for something else that will probably not show 350-550 dollars worth of improvement. Maybe you guys know of some amazing subwoofer that costs around 250 that blows it out of the water

Thanks a lot everyone!

No there are no "amazing" subs for $250 that will blow it out of the water. It seems like a really good buy at that price.

Def Tech SC8000
Harman Kardon AVR 1600

haha yeah I know, I was only being half serious. It seems like sometimes you find products that are priced ridiculously low for what they do and legitimately work out with audio every once in awhile though so I thought I'd ask. (Probably due to the insane markup on a lot of brands)

EDIT: Oh yeah I had another question, Does anyone have any idea what the response curve is like?

Don't think it's been tested independently. Klipsch claims 26-something. Real life- it probably falls pretty fast below 30-35hz but should hit hard above that.

$250 seems like a pretty good deal for that sub, so it might be worth picking up.

If you take yourself too seriously expect me to do the exact opposite
