I have a single Paradigm DSP-3200 , and it works great.

i thought about this today , i have an Infinity 12" sub in my basement that im not using. and a Kenwood 150W amp that drives it nicely .

i already used that sub back in the day in my house (just for stereo out of my PC) using a Radio Shack 12V 3A power supply. Yes it seems low amps but it worked just fine.
Honestly i never cranked the thing up, but i have no intention to do so now.

my question , will it sound better for Movies if i will add that as a second sub ?
or will it reduce the SQ because it's not in the "same level" as the Paradigm ?

BP - Sony BDP-S5100 PreAmp - Marantz AV7005 PowerAmp - Rotel RMB - 1095
Main - Dynaudio Focus 220 MKII Center - Dynaudio 200c Sub - Paradigm DSP-3200 Rear Mission SC-5MK

i'll let someone with actual knowledge help you... but i've always heard it's not a great idea to combine different subs with one another.

Try it, let your ears decide.

I did something similar and came up with great results. (car sub powered by HTIB amp) I had to block the port on the car sub as it was tuned way to high. Played around with room placements and amp settings on my better sub and it all came out good.

Well, one of two things... If the paradigm is dialed in correct and there are no nulls, which i doubt then colocating them would get you +6db or so.

Now if there is a dip in the response, the second sub placed in another location could fill in that null, but not really get you anymore output like colocating...

That was a very general explaination...

Only way a second can make things worse was if the phase was off and it actually canceled out the response at the LP. I did that with my first experiment using multiples, then i switched the phase and the response filled in....
