Is it ok to run 3 subs off a 7.2 reciever with a y adapter at the end of the sub cable to the second sub? Subs are connected to lfe in jacks . Will it have any effect on the output of the receiver to each sub? i.e less power to each sub?

go for it. As a matter of fact, run 6 subs.

Seriously, because powered sub have their own amps, you can run a multitudes of subs as it will not tax your receiver. All the receiver is doing is sending a signal. For a few weeks, I was running 4 subs with no probs but I ended up selling 2

Not a problem. Go for it. Why not add one more? Lol

I ran three for over a year off a 7.1 receiver. I used Y adapters...no problem. Too much going on in the room in the end, and I needed the floor space back.

Here's a little reading material on how multiple subs gives you a smoother response at the LP.
