Hi,

We had this subwoofer hooked up with our surround sound system and Denon receiver. It is my parents home and I go to college in a different state. I came home and my parents said the subwoofer is no longer working and am trying to help.

Here is a video I made of the problem:

Why is it doing this?

Here are a few pictures of the settings:

Thank you for your help!

The video illustrates what is typically associated with a failure of the servo mechanism within the driver assembly, this is sadly not repairable.

When in comes to audio there are seldom right and wrong answers.  The opinions of "experts" are just that, and should be used as a suggestion only.  Remember at the end of the day it is your money, your system, and you will need to listen to it.

If the driver is still in good shape, buy a nice inexpensive pro amplifier, like an EP4000, disconnect the Velodyne electronics and merely use the box and driver. Operate until the driver finally gives out, then you've got an amplifier and you're ready to move on into another sub. You will need to EQ the new configuration.

No sense in wasting anything.

My 2 cents

Good luck
