looking for a rack mount amp (non xlr, just regular rca) that can push around 1000-1500 watts rms. something decent but doesnt cost a fortune nothing over a grand for sure. used is fine.

or i see a lot of xlr amps with massive power for cheap out there but i have no idea how i'd use an xlr amplifier to power subs off the rca sub out on a denon-3311ci. xlr-to rca converter or its not that simple?

i need ideas. help

get some RCA to XLR cables from monoprice

Take a look at the Behringer EP amps. I believe they can push around 1400 watts monobridged into 4ohm. Good value but just gotta change the fan.

No subwoofer I've heard has been able to produce the bass I've experienced in the Corps!

Must..stop...buying...every bluray release...

it's really as simple as that? output would be just the same as if it was a true xlr balanced input?

i see many posted for sale for like 500-800 bucks and have some serious power output. all over 1,000 watts and as much as 3,000 watts. i never looked into xlr amps before but jesus thats an awful lot of power for such a small price.

Or you can look at the Dayton SA1000 from parts express. It has RCA and speaker inputs as well and cost around $400. Also has a built in eq. 950 watts into 4 ohms.

You could probably find a Behringer EP2500 used for under $300 right now. I got mine for $200
If you do get the Behringer I/others here can help you make that thing quiet!

Interesting, that Behringer might be the ticket to bring my dead Sunfire sub back to life, if I ever decide to do so.

While I do agree that there's no reason not to try a rca->xlr cable, the crown xls and qsc gx are two pro amp lines that have regular rca inputs. Keep in mind that the qsc gx amps cannot be bridged nor can they handle 2ohm loads, but the crown amps have no such limitations.

Yes I don't since I don't need that much power but I believe it can be bridged to send about 1400watts into 4ohms

Nice! And I was thinking my Sunfire was never going to be useable again. I refuse to pay to have the internal amp repaired.

There are some cheap pro amps here

Crest and Crown are quality brands but I don't know about the others.

pretty sure the sunfire is like 2.6 ohms or something like that. not sure an ep2500 will handle that load mono bridge. not to mention the sunfire is 2700w. It requires such massive power because of it's small size.
