I saw this topic mentioned in another thread but cannot find it. I have been using the tones in my AVR to adjust my sound levels to all my speakers including my subs. Tonight I decided to use the THX optimizer that is on most THX movies and discovered that using my SPL meter, my center channel was 2 db higher and my left surround was 1 db higher. My sub was at the same level when using the AVR tones. What is the proper way to check your levels, using a disc or the tones in the AVR?

I like to use a test disc like AVIA since you will utilize all of your equipment in the signal chain the same as you would use in watching a dvd or listening to a music cd.
