If needed we can remove some of the "duplicates" that may have similar sound signatures - examples Cap vs Cap 1000, XV15 vs XV30, Legend vs. Empire, etc.
Oh, and I might not be against going into a second day if need be, heh.
As for now - I have to say I'm pretty stoked at the amount of interest we've generated. Who else is excited? biggrin.gif

My appologies to you all, due to the size of dual XV30, I don't think I can make it.
I've tweaked and fiddled a bit since my initial tuning session. The review on dual XV30 comming soon. My previously owned subs Dual VTF3MK2, dual Klipsch RW-12D and dual SVS PB10-NSD (sold)
And I'll use Onkyo TX-NR818 7.2-Ch Audyssey MultEQ XT32 for room correction.

To give you all an idea of the scale, here's a pictures of the pallet in front of my garage door.(click the photos to see the larger versions)

My suspicion is that even at moderately low levels you'd hear the other room.

Yeah, figured that. Unless there was a way to time/schedule the bass heavy scenes/clips, we would likely need a separate house to fully isolate the rooms. Let's see how the final list plays out.

No worries, the XV30 should be similar in sound to the XV15 which we should be auditioning. +5-6DB of course. biggrin.gif Looking forward to your review!

There will also be an XS15 there, so everyone will get to hear 2 of the 3 PSA models.

If you take yourself too seriously expect me to do the exact opposite

Anyone have any experience with this place for IT training?

Boss gave me the go ahead, and the subject matter is applicable, but I want to ensure the training is good too!

I am an "IT" guy at a university but I am more testing applications than security. On their website they say the have instructed the FBI, Navy, and Army. I would have to think that it is pretty decent training. Plus they have won at least two awards. From a quick search they seem legit and accredited. I would say it is probably a pretty good institution.

LOL, im an engineer and also a 1st class nerd

anyway i finally got around to tossing up the list of music i can rip as flac and cut to length if people want me to. I don't mind doing it if i happen to have something someone wants to hear, its no big deal for me to cut and convert. i didn't list songs as it would be absurdly long, but pretty much everything is full albums

Also sent a few clips of songs over to rush2049

I say load up on some TOOL
"The Grudge"
"Ticks and Leeches"
"46&2"
"aenema"
"lateralus"
"Vicarious"
"The Pot"
"Rosetta Stoned"
GNR
"You could be mine"
"Don't Damn Me"

I don't know too much "Dream Theater" but the drumming is supposed to be really good so maybe some of that.
That list is quite long smile.gif. Some bands I know well, some band I am familiar with and some I don't know at all. Let's see what other people suggest. But I say let's go
heavy and really gives these subs a work out. But that's just me tongue.gif.

Portnoy is an insanely good drummer. Virtually anything by DT would be a workout for a sub, but their songs tend to be rather long. It would probably have to be just a clip or two.

its prob best to go with specific times out of songs. As much as id like listning to all of Hotel Cali and Money for Nothing, we dont have time for that.

The 2 i sent over were cut to 45 seconds,

Deadmau5 - Ghosts N Stuff - about 1 min in to 1:45 - which everyone should know
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QV8eiSA4vqc&feature=player_detailpage#t=60s

and
Sonata Arctica - San Sebastian - the first 45 seconds - youtube does not show off the dbl bass as well as i wish it did

Yeah, we will have to. I think I have these in MP3 format at home so let me dig them up and pull out the times for you. For most clips 25-30 seconds should suffice. As Archaea noted, any more than this could get pretty boring quickly.

I have the Hybrid MC SACD of the Telarc 1812. You'd better have some spare windows available if that gets played!

By the way, I have the Paradigm Signature S2 woof, but I have NO IDEA how I'd get it there! It's 230 pounds without the packaging.

The easiest (and usually cheapest) way to improve the sound of your system is to put on a better recording.

I would love to hear the above on any of the Big boys especially if it is going to be on a Seaton Submersive?? I also have a Bass CD it Came from Outer Bass, if we need any tracks from there let me know..I have Beenie man "Who Am I" I also have "Whoomp there it is" some good bass there as well..

Do we have DVD-A/SACD/ MC Capability?? So, I will be Bringing NO equipment just myself and perhaps some Sodas, Juice, Water if needed..let me know as I do Not drink..

I live close buy so if is gonna branch to a 2 day event Im in wink.gif.. I am A bass head and just need more bass in my current system.. I currently have a HSU VTF-1 and looking to get a HSU ULS-15 is one of those gonna be there by chance??

It seems like nobody's coming from the Boston area, or at least nobody that wants to offer a ride frown.gif Oh well, I've gone ahead and rented a car (Enterprise has weekend specials going on now) so the good news is I am definitely coming, and bringing my new Arx A5 towers. If anybody is considering an Arx A1b purchase, I could bring those as well. Both the Arx A5s and A1bs are pretty amazing speakers that I believe are a big step up from any of their competition at their price points. ($749, $299)

The bad news is I'll be renting a compact car so my HP SubM will not fit.

Andrew- I have the older original "fat" PS3 that can play SACDs and DVD-As... I can bring that for either the primary or secondary listening area if needed. I also have a few SACDs and DVD-As I can bring, but I will defer to the group in terms of what we want to play in the primary area.

BTW- Another IT guy here, haha.. (IT-Infrastructure/ VMWare, etc.)

That sounds good regarding the Arx A5 towers. We should be covered with Submersive(s) since Mike is bringing his. If you want to bring the PS3 as a backup, that would be fine with me - this way we'll be covered with SACDs if the need arises.

Since we have quite a few different loudspeaker setups, I'm thinking we can set those upstairs with my Empires handling the LFE. Obviously we will have to time the demos properly so that the rooms do not interfere with each other. I'll put a schedule together in a few weeks when we have a "definite" list. biggrin.gif

Gorilla83, Just so you know im happy with noth bringing down the Legend because of time constraints, it sounds similar enough to the empire IMO that it can be left out.

There is so many interested people in this part of the country, we ought to do a concert series, rent an abandoned movie theater, scarf up a bunch of close hotel/motel rooms, and rock through about 4 days of this.
Could very well be the definitive GTG/party this forum has ever seen.

The more I read the more excited I get. There probably won't be another chance like this to hear this great gear in quite awhile.
