Hey guys new here! I've spend a considerable time looking for a very particular solution to my problem but have yet to come across a concrete answer. Here's my situation: I have the music streamer dac connected to my computer which only outputs an rca connection. Now I just picked up a M&K MX90 sub which has all the typical stuff on the back- rca line in and the high level in and out for use with speaker wire and I already have some M-Audio studio speakers which the right is powered and sends the signal to a passive left speaker via speaker wire. I want to hook all of this up without a receiver because essentially I am out of moneys. I figure I have two options, either split the rca connection using two y splitters right out of the dac one pair going to the powered speakers and the other going to the sub OR send the signal directly to the right M-Audio speaker using rca then the left signal (which would normally just go to the left speaker) will be routed through the sub (using the high level input/output) then back to the left speaker via wire. Would there be any difference sound quality wise between the options? Certainly the latter choice would involve less cables and is what I would prefer but I don't know if it will work well. Any help is appreciated!!!
