I'm having a lot of trouble finding anything sub $500 price range for a subwoofer in a Walnut finish. Apparently that finish is popular in the UK but I don't want to pay the overseas shipping costs on something like that. Any suggestions from the subwoofer experts?

I'm looking for something like this:

The problem is that there are very few sub makers using walnut at any price. It is a veneer that in recent years seems to have fallen out of favor. I'd suggest going with a neutral black sub.

walnut veneer is typically about a $200-$300 upgrade on most subs. I doubt you'll find a sub of any worth with that veneer (unless it's plastic) for $500 total -- as that leaves no margin for sub, amp, box, profit.

There are a few items on ebay when I typed walnut + subwoofer.

Here is an example

Most of the new items I found in a google search are vastly overpriced because of the finish for the sub quality you are purchasing.

Rose nut maybe? Or you could always diy and get something more than adequate with a $500 budget.
