I have a chance to get a B&W PV1 for $500... worth it? I've already got quite a lot of B&W products and I'm coming up from a lackluster sub.

It doesn't seem like I can do better for the money, but thought I'd ask the experts....

the pv1 is a very lackluster sub, but it looks purdy. avtalk measured one a while back and it really underperformed relative to its claimed specs. It might be fine to use for a bedroom system, where you don't need high output or very much extension.

Is that new? If so, the price is certainly a discount; I think the PV1 costs 2-3 times that. Whether or not it's actually worth $500 I can't say -- because I've never heard one and have read virtually nothing about it -- but the discount is quite good. How big is your room? Is it for 2 channel or HT?

If you take yourself too seriously, expect me to do the exact opposite
