I took advantage of Mark Seaton's latest opportunity; he had four black veneered cabinets that had issues in the paint process. Because of the sanding and additional coats of paints required he basically ended up with a satin black finish. He offered these cabinets at a $200 discount per sub. I also took advantage of the used 1000 watt amplifiers. This combination made it possible for me to get two Submersives for $3,000 !! I doubt I will need the additional power of the 2400 watt HP amplifiers, but, the option is still there to upgrade if and when I decide it is needed.

These will be replacing a single Velodyne FSR-15 that I use along with three Aerial Acoustic LR5's across the front and two RBH in-walls in the back for surrounds.

I can't afford to have Mark come to my home and personally set these up, but, I am very fortunate to live close to Ricci of Data-Bass who has offered to come over and set these up in my room using REW and the QSC DSP-30 (as recommended by Mark for EQ).

I am anticipating a major improvement in my system both with the subs, and, with having Ricci professionally locate them in my home theater and provide proper EQ and set-up with my current speakers and room.

Thanks to all on AVS for helping me decide on my subwoofer upgrade. Once everything is set-up and dialed in I will post my impressions of the improvements in my system.

David Lynch Current Equipment: Marantz AV8801, Proceed HPA3, Parasound HCA-1206, Aerial Acoustics LR5's (LCR), Aerial Acoustics LR3's (sides), RBH in-walls (rears), Seaton Submersive, Marantz VP15s1, 106" Carada BW screen, Oppo BDP-103.

Your bass response and performance will be about 42,692 % better than u r currently experiencing. Totally different league. I went from dual DD -18's plus dual SVS PB 13's to dual Submersives and it was as if I had dual 3" woofers compared to the Seatons. U will love them!!!!

Congrats on the great purchase and price !!!!!!!!

Great choice smile.gif. I have a feeling that going to a dual SubMersive setup will cause the common side effect known to happen with these subs. That being perpetual biggrin.gifbiggrin.gifbiggrin.gif. Looking forward to your thoughts when you get them setup. That deal you received makes an even better choice. Have fun.

My subs should arrive via ABF freight tomorrow, and, my QSC DSP-30 is due to arrive today! Hopefully very soon I will be able to post some very good before/after observations of my system.

I also want to comment on the professionalism and knowledge exhibited by Mark Seaton. Not only does he understand speakers and room acoustics, but, he is more than generous with his time to explain his knowledge over the phone. Every time I called he personally answered my questions and took the time to make sure I understood. This was even before I committed to making a purchase. I was fortunate to be able to meet Mark at CEDIA last week. He is obviously one of the last true gentlemen in the business. I am now even more certain that his submersives will exceed my expectations.

I don't have an ETA for the submersives yet; I will need to pick them up at the terminal. I didn't want to take a whole day to wait for them to deliver to my house; It's a good thing I have a truck. Let's meet as planned. Just maybe I'll have two boxes in the back of my truck when I see you tomorrow:D

My overly picky nature appears to have thrown a wrench in some plans. redface.gif

Occasionally the pre-owned amps need a little extra TLC & refreshing before they head out the door, and this was the case here. They should arrive Friday, so David should be having some fun this weekend,

Enjoy,

This reminds me of a line from the movie "The Three Amigo's" with Steve Martin, Chevy Chase, and Martin Short.

I recently purchased a seaton HP and have been blown away. I'm curious as to what your impressions are on dual submersives.

Having a Submersive is like eating ice cream, I went from 1 to 2, then to 3, and ended up with 4.

I thought I would never say this but I'm going to pull the trigger on an other submersive very soon. Spoke to Mark I think I'm going with the dual HP with the 4k amp. This could be epic!

image.jpg 28k .jpg file I should have posted this last week. I have met Mark Seaton 4 or 5 times. I have purchased two subs and a good friend of mine also brought two. Mark is genuinely a nice guy and extremely knowledgable. The passion about the AV world and in his products in particular is refreshing. The only thing I'm that passionate about is Cocnac. I saw Mark last year at Axpona and I will see him again this year. He's getting a room on the main floor. I'm pretty excited to hear his set up...FYI I'm the 6ft 6 guy

Ediddy... Finally! Someone on this board is also attending 2014 Axpona.. I'm attending with my family as well. Can't wait to hear a demo of Seatons famous Cats. I'm in market for speakers. And Axpona will be the time I'll decide and purchase. We'll be flying in from Hawaii. We'll be also driving to JTR headquarters for a demo also with Jeff. Which is already setup. Hey maybe we can meet up at the exhibition...

^^ Definitely will pm you when the times near. At least 1 month ahead. Jeff said to let em know the time and day that weekend. I'm probably gonna do it on one of the Axpona day. Besides other exhibitioners at the Axpona the main one I want to see and hear a demo there is Seaton Sound. And hopefully get to meet Mark. And then Jeff at JTR..
