My amp has no crossover adjustment. It is basically a stereo amp(Nad C356BEE). Is adding a sub even an option?, or would it just bloat some bass freq due to bass overlap?

Adding a sub is an option, and you'd use the crossover control (as well as the phase and gain controls) on the back of the sub to blend it with the mains.

Get a sub with speaker-level connections and run speaker wires:
- from the L+R main speaker terminals on your receiver to the speaker-level inputs on the sub; and
- from the speaker-level outputs on the sub to your L+R speakers.
