Your solution is to get either the JL or SVS(both will be great) and play the Lord of the Rings blurays and then all your neighbors can finally hear it correctly! Seriously, I never owned a powerful sub until I bought my own house and dedicated room.

I went to get my AVP upgraded today - I saw a LOT of velodyne subs getting repaired there. I saw 1 REL (not familiar with them) and an Epik.

It's true, I won't ever be able to crank it, I just want it to enhance my lows, not really displace air or shake my walls. I'm heading to check out the DD+ this coming weekend and I'll finally be able to make a decision. At the moment I'm leaning towards the SVS and JL. The SVS clearly being cheap although I found a pretty good deal on a JL. I'd probably get the SVS if I could get it with a cloth cover but even though the JL is nearly twice as much it would probably hold up better as I tend to hold on to much of my AV equipment other than optical players for quite a while.
