Forgive me for asking, this forum is mind numbing.

I just ordered the Jamo 426 package to replace a BA MCS-90 package (hope this will be an upgrade?) and need a sub that wont break the bank.

I dont need ultra low extension but i do not want one note boomy bass. Down to 35hz or so would be fine.

my room is not small but not huge either...

thanks for the help, mark.

IMO, you'll be hard-pressed to find anything at ~$150 that meets your requirements. I suggest you keep an eye out for a gently-used Energy S10.3. smile.gif

Roughly how big (l x w x h) would that be?

15x20 but is open to rest of house, also does not have high ceilings.

also i am not unhappy with the little sub that came with the BA MCS-90. it does add bottom to the sound... so i dont need liver shaking bass....

I should note that i did use to have the top of the line paradigm sub at one time ($1500). and paradigm all the way around, but divorce took care of that!

My wants are dictated by my means... i cant afford alot now.

Fair enough, which is why I suggested something that would fit your budget. smile.gif

Condolences on the divorce. frown.gif

Velodyne VX-11 is close to your price. Sounds pretty good for a budget sub. Won't fill a very large room with bass (only a 10").

The PSW10 is inexpensive (usually $99 on sale) and its performance is commensurate with its price. IMO, it is best suited to smaller rooms and/or modest HT set-ups.

Having bought several sub $200 subs in the past, I would save a little. For $200-$250, you can find much better subs on sale.

The thing is, shipping a sub is expensive, so you're $150 sub is really a $75 sub. A $225 sub is really a $150 sub. For $75 more, you're getting twice as good a sub.

According to Pure Acoustics, the Lord 10 has a "200 Watts (150 max)" amp and a FR of 40-200Hz +/- ?dB. According to Amazon.de, the Lord 10's amp is rated at 150W RMS.

So...it's possibly an OK sub for only $20 more than a PSW10. smile.gif

Maybe this for $100. Looks like shipping is waived..... (don''t) really know.

http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?partnumber=300-628

I've got 2 10" Dayton Titanic subs.....they are kits for $400, so I don't know how this would stack up.
The kits are pretty damn good....so maybe this would do (temporary).
