hi all I have a bic pl200 and looking to upgrade.
I just bought a klipsch speaker set. I had a jamo s606hcs3 set.
anyway I was looking to buy a new sub but not sure which or if it would make any difference,
I am thinking of going with either a klipsch sw112 or a klipsch rw12d.
would either be an improvement over my bic pl200 and which of those klipsch subs are better?

I have the RW-12D and love it. Newegg runs deals on it sometimes for 300.00. I've heard its a better sub than the 112 but thats up to the individual. One thing for sure its alot cheaper if you can find a deal.

I think the difference is slight from looking at the specs, but the RW-12D has the electronic DSP, a bit more power, and a bit better frequency response. I also like the looks of the RW-12D a bit better (room dependant of course) as compared to the SW-112.
Also MSRP is higher on the RW-12D so apparently Klipsch thinks the RW-12D is the better sub.

.As to your other question..

I do think the RW-12D is a better sub than the PL-200. However, If I were you I'd consider saving a bit longer, because I'm not sure you'll be blown away by the differences. If you can save up longer for a VTF MK4 or Outlaw LFM-1EX, or perhaps even two RW-12Ds --- then that's my recommendation. If you can sell the PL-200 to pay for the RW-12D and it doesn't cost you much more than $100 or $150 it's probably worth while. Capricornkid uses a pair of PL200s and a pair of RW-12Ds together and likes his results. However, before going that route of three of these $300 subs I'd almost certaintly recommend a HSU VTF-15H or Rythmik FV15HP instead to take advange of the 16hz and 14hz tunes respectively. A lot of fun can be had around 15-20hz in movie watching --- frequencies neither of these budget Klipsch or BIC subs are capable of producing at any kind of meaningful level.
