I recently bought the Dayton Audio SUB-1200 to go with my Yamaha HTR-5550 setup. My reciever has a single output for subwoofer, which input do I need to plug into on sub? Or,do I need a Y splitter?...used about 50% for music and the rest of the time movies/gaming. thanks

Usually, the owner's manual will state that you should plug into one input on the subwoofer such as 'R' or obtain a splitter and plug into both 'L' and 'R'. If there is only one input, then you should use it.

Page 2 of the two-page owner's manual (PDF) has this comment re. the line-level inputs:
Quote:
If you have a mono line level signal from a “Pro Logic”or “Dolby Digital” receiver use the right “red” input. Note: If a LFE mono output is connected, set the crossover point to maximum.
IOW, connect to the Line In input labelled R / Mono.
